I think I'd rather not pass a tractor trailer truck at 140mph..
During that picture you are refuring to, I was not going 140. I could have been going anywhere from 70-80 (when the semi was in the right hand lane) I just wanted to get a picture of full boost. So if you want to configure if that semi changed lanes, or if this, if that go ahead... I just wanted to clarify during the picture you were talking about, I was not going 140.

ShaneMcKenna203,

I wasn't trying to step on your toe's . I was just talking about the pic with the semi in it. It was my understanding that you was closing on that truck at a buck forty. My bad. Shane I do my job because I care about people. It wasn't intil I read the book by pastor Rick Warren, (The Purpose Driven Life) That I understood the purpose of my life.

Reelwork,

Yea, I am scared! Evertime I put on my vest! Other than that I am A typical. Also the garage is full of HP.

Herb and Billarf, I didn't mean to come off as an "imature friggen 19 year old." I respect my life, and I respect others around me. I am a good driver, and normally I use a little better judgement. Just today I was coming home from school on the highway and came to a spot around a turn then there is a straight away. Going into the turn I am usually going about 70 or so, then I open it up everyday and take it up to 110-120 then back down to 70 and get off at the next exit. Today, I just cruised at 70 the whole way... Not sure if it's cause I've been up to double that, or if it's cause some of the stuff you guys are saying is sinking in...
I just want to say I hear you guys talken' and I'm not just another imature 19 year old...

I must say, I am not feeling better now. In fact, I feel a bit stiff all of a sudden.

Sounds good. There is nothing wrong with being young and nothing wrong with having fun and living. I am 39 and when I was 18 -19 I use to screw around like most guys, it was life. I have raced hobby stocks and some pro-stocks (freaking blast) rolled a few cars (on the track) even a BIGGER blast…

I had a 69 Grand Prix with the 455 when I was a kid and that thing could haul some ***. Use to take it on a back road in Calif. when I lived there, and would take it up to 100mph plus at times on those roads, huge rocks all over the place but never thought about it.

Friend’s dad finds out about it one day and asks me have I ever rolled a tire off the rim? I am like WTF??? So he tells me about it and I thought “wouldn’t that make for a chitty day”.

Few years later I got into racing hobby stocks for a guy I knew in San Bernadino Calif. Second race the toe was not set right and rolled my first tire off a rim right into the wall, what a BITCH that was. It wasn’t until them I realized that my friend’s dad was trying to educate me and not look at me like some “stupid kid”.

I guess the point of my mini-story is be a kid and have fun and live, just try your best to limit your risk within reason, be mindful of others around you and you will make the right decisions.

The one thing in driver’s education that has always stood in my mind, be it on the road or when I raced were these statements:

Try to imagine the worst thing that can happen and then have a plan to deal with it BEFORE it happens…

and

Always try to remain as calm as possible when actually dealing with the “worst thing that can happen”…

Actually, not a moot point in my book. You can see it as you like.
I see it as reality..... to many see themselves as indestructible.
I feel real bad for anyone that loses their life. No disrespect to victims BUT this is yet another tragedy that should be a wake up call to those that push it to far to often. "Speed kills"

I saw the post also and my prayers are with the familes also. It did say "initial reports indicated that the crash was a high-speed collision." I'm not going to argue what they were doing vs what I was doing. And I won't argue your statement speed kills. Speed does have a big factor in a lot of the accidents today. I often question why cars are produced how they are. From the factory a car that will go 100 miles an hour, or 150 miles an hour... (that is 35-85 miles an hour OVER the speed limit) Or when I had my bike, that thing would go 180 miles an hour! (that's 115 miles an hour FASTER than anyone should be going on the highway)
Who NEEDS to go that fast? No one. I am more aware of my actions now and you all have heard my side of the story.

ShaneMcKenna203, My last post stating "Speed Kills" was not aimed at you directly. It was aimed at MYSELF and everyone in general. I myself like to go insanely FAST and I need to tell myself repeatedly the same things I post here in regard to speed.
