Took it up to 140 today
In the first post here if you look at ShaneMcKenna203's number two pic just to the right of the boost guage, you can see he was about to over take a tractor trailer truck at 140mph.... and its only a 2 lane highway...... hmmmmmm........... I think I'd rather not pass a tractor trailer truck at 140mph..

Hopefully, as you mature, you will see that your calculated risks were not very accurate. Nothing is worth killing someone else and then getting raped in jail by Bubba for the next 20 years.
There is a post in the Supercrew forum about a guy who almost lost his wife becuase some "kid" wandered across the lane. When you do your next "calculation" figure in your cell mate, Bubba.
Now, back to my romance novel.

About to over take a tractor trailer? I would guess that he is at least a 1000 feet from that vehicle that is also traveling in the same direction; at 140 MPH you would have no problem coming to a complete stop before ever reaching that vehicle

But if Bubba wanted to play house you don' t have a choice.

This is the proper quote' Pardon me I have been drinking
At 100mph you are traveling approximately 150 per second. 1000ft to go before the semi? It may change lanes?????
Do the math for 140mph. I think the above pic with the semi in the right lane is a bad decision!
A time distance deal here people. Worst case: The semi driver looks into his mirror and decides to make a lane change to pass a slower truck in the right lane. Because it looks as if the pickup truck in the left lane is 1000ft away. He is unable to detect the speed from the frontal view of the pickup. NO WAY IS THE LIGHTNING GOING TO STOP IN TIME, NO WAY!!!! What's the 60ft stopping distance on our truck's?

1. I'm a 41-year-old attorney with an undergrad degree in economics. If I say so myself, I'm pretty good at calculating risks. And debunking baseless arguments.
2. While I agree with the conclusion, I reject the "20 years w/Bubba" premise on multiple grounds. First, any act of careless driving could subject one to prison time. Second, you wouldn't get 20 years for killing someone in a non-alcohol-related incident. Third, you would likely go to a minimum security facility. Much less raping goin' on there. Fourth, the logical fallacy is that the accident and subsequent conviction is a certainty, while it is at best a highly remote possibility -- requiring an incident (unlikely), an ensuing death (even more unlikely), and a felony driving conviction (more likely IFF the other two unlikely events were to occur). A false dilemma is a cheap rhetorical trick.
Finally, if all else fails, I'm 6'6", 280 lbs, and have a real bad attitude about uninvited assplay. Unless "Bubba" is one seriously massive inmate, he would be the one wearing the lipstick.

And yes there is one truck, i surely didnt expect there to be no cars running at 140, but one truck every couple miles aint no big. Why would he change lanes? If the traffic was like that im sure he wouldnt have run that speed. See, its called deductive reasoning.

100-0: 238 ft.
But these are only marginally relevant statistics. The real statistic would be 140-60.
I have passed more cars -- and semis -- than I can count on my bike at 110-115 MPH, with a closing speed often exceeding 50 MPH. Granted, a bike can avoid such an incident much easier than a 5,000 lb. truck, but I have never had to do so. I have never had a car move over on me such that I couldn't somehow avoid the incident, whether on a bike or in a car.
Let's just get off Shane's back. How many of us have driven 80 in bumper-to-bumper traffic? If you live in SoCal, it happens every day. How about 100 MPH on an open road?
Then a 140 burst on a clear interstate is just a matter of degree.
Reminds me of a story I heard about a State dinner at the White House:
Guest 1: "Would you sleep with me for a millon dollars?"
Guest 2: "I suppose so."
Guest 1: "Would you sleep with me for $10?"
Guest 2: "Why, no! What kind of a woman do you think I am?"
Guest 1: "Ma'am, we have already established what kind of woman you are. Now we are just haggling over price."

I've taken it up to 140a few times now. It feels like it's still got a little left in it...

You get the smilin PIG!
Tim,
Your bike has way less frontal area to judge speed from. MAN besafe!!!
Just think about two bikes coming at you, one is at 150 and one is at 80. At times and the right light of day it's hard to tell the closing rate on the two.
