This whole notion of chip vs re-flash is just beyond believable. You could get a chip or a flashed pcm tuned that did not meet your specific mods, or specific vehicle. Whether you use a chip or re-flash pcm the only way to get the ultimate from your set up is to have it tuned ON a dyno, or for you purists ON the street.

Also Jerry (who I'm sure who is actually doing these re-flashed pcm's) has been re-flashing pcm's for years now. I seem to remember him tuning a few Lightning a couple years back yet everyone acts like this has just been discovered.

It all comes down to the numbers that are entered, thus the tuner, and not the hardware.

No, you said that it doesnt use the 02 sensors to reach its A/F goal, if you did, then I missed it.

You said it uses MAF and ACT (but should be IAT), to reach its A/F goals, so my question would be, does it use LTFT and STFT? (long term fuel trim and short term fuel trim) at all? If it does, then it must use them to determine WOT fuel trim, because thats the only way it can do it. It CANNOT just look at MAF and IAT, if this programming only looks at MAF and IAT @ WOT for fuel control, without any adaptive strategy utilizing the 02's, then I will never use a system like this because it wont know my particular combinations optimimum fuel trim and timing, and it wont know if I have a misfiring cylinder or clogged exhaust or any mechanical condition that would cause WOT fuel control problems.

I'm not gonna beat this one into the ground, because the "experts" that come here and lay claim that this is the best thing since sliced bread havent posted anything close to being actual technical data on how this "reflash" works above and beyond the tuning that is done already via chip or reprogram.

The shroud of secrecy around who is doing these reflashes and the lack of technical experience by the person that is marketing these reflashes also gives me an uneasy feeling.

If you wanted to do actual laptop, on boad, at the track tuning, then you better ask some of the import guys to build you a piggyback UTEC board and then you will have adaptive, at the track, on the fly tuning with the stroke of a keyboard.

ITS COMING

But he comes from a site that is drenched in that sort of thing, so he should be used to it by now and he should have some pretty thick skin, dont ya think?

PURCHASE SECURITY

ps, the posts lately have been very adult and respectful, now that a certain few have stopped all that childish, petty BS

Steve go sit in the corner. ITs already been said that JERRY is NOT the one who is doing recalibrations. Jerry can do a reflash of the same programs he burns to chips, on the PCM. He is NOT recalibrating these PCM's for BOP despite what you want to believe

You sound awefully sure for someone who's incorrect.

dude nate, we should dyno your 4lber then swap my 6 on there to see where the a/f goes. this would be a true test of the consistent a/f ratio goal.
