Cool everyone...

John Coletti autographed my truck and it states " all mods on ****'s truck are exempt from voiding the warranty, signed: John Coletti "

It would be cool if everyone at Ford were as cool and understanding as Mr. Coletti.

I will be buying a new Lightning in the near future and I plan on going by the golden rule... "treat others the way you would like to be treated". That being the case, I don't forsee any problems. (unless they don't like the "golden rule" )

As an afterthought, isn't it strange that the latest
edition of SVT Enthusiast has an article describing
the benefits of putting underdrive pulleys on our vehicles?

Which is it, Ford? Mod or Not?

They do say that the pulleys "may" cause warranty
problems.

Shoot me a copy and I'll have our lawyers look into that. That may just be what we would need to support our arguements should for those who install a pulley and the dealer deny warranty.

Did you not see the little disclaimer that was at the bottom of his post? A lawyer wouldn't have much of a chance when Ford says that such a mod may cause a warranty problem. Good luck though.

With the "under-drive" pulleys" question

I believe it was about a year ago, the the "SVT ENTHUSIAST" did an article about installing a chip in the Cobra.
Yeah, for a factory publication, they do have some funny articles

That was no disclaimer. The key word here is "MAY" It never
said it will void a warranty

Angry dealers' response to this trashing

WELL LEW (AND ALL THE REST THAT HAVE "PILED ON")

LET'S STATE THE TRUE FACTS HERE:

1) THERE IS A KNOWN SPECIAL SERVICE MESSAGE DIRECTLY RELATING TO THIS ISSUE!

2) THIS WHOLE "CONJECTURE" THAT YOU PASTED HERE ON THIS WEBSITE IS INFACT WHAT:

A: STOPPED US FROM GETTING A MOTOR FOR YOU AFTER THE FORD ENGINEER READ YOUR "UNTRUE" COMMENTS ABOUT US DRY STARTING YOUR ENGINE!

B: ALTHOUGH THERE WAS "NO FAULT" BY ANY EMPLOYEE OF FRAMINGHAM FORD, YOU WERE UPGRADED TO AN EXPLORER AT THE EXPENSE OF FRAMINGHAM FORDOF $17 PER DAY OVER WHAT SVT PAYS THE DEALER FOR A LOANER CAR!

C: NOW HAVING TO WAIT UNTIL TOMORROW FOR A FORD SERVICE ENGINEER TO VISIT OUR DEALERSHIP TO VIEW YOUR DISASSEMBLED MOTOR AND GIVE THE OK TO DETROIT SO THAT REPAIRS CAN PROCEED!

WHILE I APRECIATE YOUR RECANTING YOUR "TESTIMONY" AFTER YOUR WERE CONTACTED BY ME AND SVT'S REPRESENTATIVE TO TELL YOU THAT THIS THREAD THAT YOU STARTED HERE AND YOUR ACCUSATION OF "DEALER" FAULT IS WHAT CAUSED THE DELAY!

THE FACTS OF THE MATTER IS THAT MY DEALERSHIP DID NOTHING WRONG HERE AND EVEN WENT OVER AND ABOVE WHAT WAS TO BE EXPECTED OF US! WE DID KEEP IN CONSTANT CONTACT WITH YOU ABOUT THE EVENTS AS THEY HAPPENED!

WHY IS IT THEN THAT YOU FEEL THAT YOU SHOULD NOT BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS IN THIS POSTING AND THAT THE DEALER SHOULD CONTINUE TO ASSUME THE EXTRA COSTS OF THE EXPLORER RENTAL?

WE EVEN RECIEVED A CALL HERE AT THE DEALERSHIP FROM AN "AVID SVT OWNER" WHO JUST WANTED TO VOICE HIS OPINION OF OUR HANDLING OF THIS EVENT! IS THIS FAIR CRITISISM I ASK YOU?

FACTS ARE FACTS! MISCONCEPTIONS ARE EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE! REALITY IS WHAT IT IS! ALL OF YOU SHOULD NOTE THAT PEOPLE WHO WORK IN THE DEALERSHIPS ARE "PEOPLE" ALSO! THEY HAVE FEELINGS! THEY HAVE PRIDE IN THEIR WORK! THEY HAVE PRIDE IN THEIR RESPECTIVE DEALERSHIPS!

THESE PEOPLE WORK HARD EVERYDAY IN AN ENVIROMENT THAT I AM SURE MOST OF YOU COULD NOT HANDLE! IT IS VERY RARE THAT ANYONE EVERS COMES INTO A SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND SAYS SOMETHING PLEASANT REGARDLESS OF HOW THEY WERE TREATED! IT IS A THANKLESS JOB! AND TO BERATED IN PUBLIC LIKE THIS WHEN THERE WAS "NO FAULT" BY DEALERSHIP PERSONEL IS RIDICULOUS!

I WANT YOU ALL TO THINK ABOUT WHAT YOUR JOB WOULD BE LIKE IF YOU WERE DISECTED AND BERATED IN PUBLIC! OPENLY ACCUSED OF THINGS THAT ARE NOT TRUE! AND EVEN WHEN YOU GO THE "EXTRA" MILE FOR A CUSTOMER HE TRASHES YOU!

THINK BEFORE YOU ACT!

service director,

i have a job that is just a berating as yours, we have 72 kids on the bus that tell their parents everything, from if you sneezed to couldnt stop at a light that was t urning re in time. then you have the parents that come to the stop that you might have 45 kids get off at, and yell and scream curse and eveb had someone try to spit on me. so the moral of the story is....do your job right and nothing will happen, or if you dont like your job, LEAVE

have a nice day,

if you didnt yse CAP lock i may have believed that you worked for a dealer!!

Does the GM know you posted that? I have worked in the car business, including dealer, for a while now. You are right it can be a tough job, but LEAVE if you truly feel that way. If it eats you the way you say it does then you need to walk away today. There are many other jobs that you would never have to spend a day talking to people, go find one immediately.

Also, that is the most unprofessional response I have ever heard. The mis-spellings and the fact that it doesn't even make total sense is an insult to your dealership. Could Mastervtech handled this situation differently? Yes, but so could you.

oh yeah, with a rant like that, they would have to provide me with a new truck..

'cause the old one would be shoved deep in SERVICEDIRECTOR's nether regions. (read: **** canal)

Mastertvtech: contact a lawyer to handle this from now on..
