Question for those of you with painted heads

Ok so I'm getting ready to swap out my headlights with a set of painted ones. Anyone got opinions on any of the black headlights off of ebay? Also, those of you who have painted heads, did you either paint or buy black fog lights to go with them? Or did you just leave them as is? Thanks.

I had a 2004 so I ran into this issue. Luckally '06+ don't have this issue having rounded fogs.

Leaving the fogs as is makes it look really goofy. Even more so if your bumper is painted. Because a chrome bumper will compliment the chrome fog housing a little more.

I took my fogs apart, and masked the reflective surface, and painted the remains. Here is my how-to article on this process.. It is a involved process, especially with thick hands like mine. I also did my buddys FX4 truck's fogs to paint match his two tone.

And the visual result.

Does not sacrifice any light output either.

Nice pics as usual Darren. OP I'm running eBay matte black headlights, they look good but function for what they're worth. At bumps/potholes The inner housings shake so I'd stay clear of ebay knockoffs. I'm running them because my stockers got water in them, so I put them out to dry and been to lazy to get them painted gloss black

My stockers had developed a small leak so I figured it'd be a good time to look into black housing ones. I ended up getting a set of cheap eBay lights (I think around $75 shipped). And now I've got my OEMs that I can tear into for a Retrofit in the spring.

For the price, I'd say they're a good mod. I sealed mine up with a little silicon around the lens. Isn't the prettiest but you never see it when they're on the truck.

I think I'll paint the Fog Light housings black sometime soon. I was hoping to find a newer styled bumper with the round fogs and paint it.. Not having a lot of luck with that so I'll probably paint my current fogs with a matte black to get me by until I get the time and money for a painted bumper swap
