Problem with headlights

Hello this is my first post, i drive a 2012 ford f150 STX 4x4. i was trying to install bi xenon hid's and the passenger hid came on for a second and then went out. i trying checking all the connections and tightened everything then nothing would come on. it started to get dark so i put the old headlights back in and the only light that would work is the driver side low beam, not the high beam, just low. no fog lights either. anything? or should i just bring it to ford?

What hind of HID kit did you install? Does it have a relay harness?
I'm guessing you blew your headlamp, fog light fuses.
Does your truck still start/run? Does your horn, or interior lights work?

Just pull the fuse box cover off and it should say on the back of the cover or where the fuses go the names. Look for headlights, high beam, low beam, fogs when you find one or all the names pull the fuse and check it.

Check the fuses or take it to the dealership and send back that crappy *** $35 kit and stick with halogens. You're going to fry a computer if you arent careful.

Open your owners manual and check the section on fuses, to find the 2 fuses that might be blown.

1. passenger side low beam : cab fuse #16.
2. high beam fuse ( both ) cab fuse panel # 39

The fog lamps, Not too sure is going on there, check the steering wheel control module fuses and the fog lamp fuse.

I hope this kit used a relay to power the HIDs, if not you might have a FET turned off.

did you do any splicing to the factory wires, or was it a bulb connector that plugged into a headlamp connector to trigger the HID system ?

BTW : Unless you went up by the PCM or into the cab of the truck, you are not going to "fry a computer."
