You have to use the pin numbers that are on the wiring diagram. Try this:

Pin 3 HU -> Pin 9 Sub
Pin 1 HU -> Pin 7 Sub (Should be shielded)
Pin 2 HU -> Pin 8 Sub (Should be shielded)
Pin 4 HU -> Pin 1 Sub (Shield)

Hot at all times +12V -> Pins 5 & 6 Sub
Ground -> Pins 2 & 3 Sub

I can't believe any audio shop couldn't figure that out. That is a very basic wiring diagram.

The pin numbers for the HU harness on on the harness next to each pin connection - they are very small. I couldn't find any pin numbers on the sub harness, but they are labelled inside the sub connector (the connector on the amp) - again, they are very small.

bink360,
What is the shield that you need. I am in the same position as you and almost have all of my audiophile parts?

AXE124, THE SHIELD IS MADE OF COPPER AND LOOKS LIKE A CHINESE FINGER PUZZEL. IT HAS A WIRE THAT RUNS THE LENGTH OF IT. LOOKING AT THE DIAGRAM THAT WAS POSTED YOU WOULD RUN WIRE'S 1 AND 2 THROUGH THE SHEILD TO 7 AND 8 PIN ON THE AMP HARNESS. YOU WOULD THEN SOLDER THE WIRE FOR THE
9 PIN TO THE WIRE THAT RUNS THE LENGTH OF THE SHIELD AT ONE END AND THE 3 WIRE ON THE HARNESS THAT PLUGS INTO THE HU AT THE OTHER END OF SHIELD. WHEN DONE PROPERLY THE SHIELD WILL BLOCK OUT OTHER ELECTRICAL INTERFERENCE LIKE ENGINE NOISE. I WAS UNABLE TO FIND ANYONE WHO COULD SUPPLY ONE. I AM JUST GOING TO RUN THE POWER WIRE DOWN THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE TRUCK SO IT WILL NOT INTERFER WITH THE SIGNAL.

Hi, I know there is a lot of information on this board about hooking up the sub/amp to the audiophile. Hopefully 2 basic questions. First, I have a 2004 FX4 with 1 cd radio. I have purchased the factory sub/amp and will install it as the factory would have. I have also bought a 6cd audiophile factory radio. Can I use the wiring that is currently in my truck if I can find the sub/amp wire that will run from the radio to the sub/amp? Can I use this harness to do this: https://www.f150online.com/forums/li....installer.com ? Or does the audiophile take special wiring all around?
Thanks, Chris

I HAVE MY SYSTEM HOOKED UP AND IT WORKS GREAT! YES CHRISOFX4 YOU CAN USE THE HARNESS THAT IS ALREADY THERE FOR THE DOOR SPEAKERS, BUT YOU MUST MAKE THE SUB AMP WIRING HARNESS. I USED THE FORD PART#'S AND WIRING DIAGRAM THAT FORDNOOBIE POSTED.

Info for Chris

Chris,

You will need to create your own wiring from the two wiring harness listed in this posting. I know that Fordnoobie has done it. I am waiting for part which will be in Tuesday. .

I pulled my radio out tonight and low and behold the subamp wire was clipped to the firewall by a holder for the radio. Does this mean that they have already run the wire for the factory subamp and it is under the rear seat somewhere? Also does anyone know the tool/socket to take out the back seat if that is the case to get to the wire, or do I even need to do that.

I am assuming they run the wire from the passengers side, is that correct?

Thank you for any help you can offer.

Update, I could not find the subamp end to the wire, I pulled out part of theback rug and looked under the rug on both the passenger side and the drivers side but no luck. Has anyone found it in a different location?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Exclamation

chrisofx4, the wire that you found may be for the dvd player and not for the sub. The sub plug for the deck only has 4 wires coming out of it. you may need to purchase the two wiring harness.
