Ya um i don't think so. I don't think anybody right now can match Darrius Rucker's voice. He's absolutely amazing. Also there is a reason why they are famous. Because they got talent. I've never heard of chris knight or hayes carl, ect. but until they actually do somethin then you can nowhere near put them in the same sentence as Kenny Chesney.

If you haven't listened to Chris Knight or Hayes Caryl, you are really missing out. The big difference is Nashville money creates many of the artists today. The producers control the music and the sound as well as promote the artist. There is more real talent in the artists that you have never heard of. Bleu Edmonsund, Ryan Bingham, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Slaid Cleaves, Billy Joe Shaver, Randy Rogers. These guys are todays country outlaws, doing it Willie's way. Some have gone to Nashville and refuse to be changed by the money. The best music is coming out of Austin.

I really enjoy the new country. i do have a Hank Jr album and I love Alan Jackson. I have respect the older artists and listen to them. To be honest, I would listen and do listen to most country as long as it's not too too old. Very interesting thread

I'll listen to any country. Even though, lately I've been listening to different music. I actually like Little big town, but I think it's hilarious that an almost identical copy of them hit the radio called "Gloriana".

She is an incredibly talented SINGER. She does not write any of her own songs, or any songs period for that matter. She won Idol because she could sing and she looks good. That is as far as her talent will ever go.

BTW, she gets a lot of flack from the Country Music Establishment because she is a vegan (not popular in the country music ranks where the roots are based in farming and livestock)
I lost all respect for her when I learned that she was a veg.

Agreed, I'm still love the Pop country, but they are right dude. Heck they live their. "Real" country is exactly what they are talking about, not the commercialized stuff that the record labels manipulate. Am I complaining about some of those cuties that I see on the ACM and CMT awards, like Miranda Lambert, Julianne Hough, and my fav. Carrie Underwoood ect NO, but at the same time, they are in the "mainstream" music which is unfortunate becuause that means that the roots of country are being ignored. This happens way too much today. Those record companies are crooks and they just want money, so if they find a gorgous male or female signer that can sing pretty well but would have people bowing to them over their beauty, then they did a good job and will reap the benefits, while many of the artists don't see that kind of money. Just look at why so many of those signers in any genre don't last very long unless the establish themselves very strongly like a Kenny Chesney, Biance, Mariah Carey, ect. And at that point, they usually go make thier own record label to protect themselves, while other talented people are kicked aside by their labels because the are no longer the "New Big Thing." Put it this way, the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus, they are going to be the same way. They got the looks now and the young star thing going, but I see it coming for them, kicked aside when their fan's interest level goes down some.

Just my .02

WTF?You lost respect for arguably one of the greatest country music female singer because she is vegan? I think thats dumb to be vegan, but its the way of life she has choosen. Whats wrong with that? And country in my opinion came from cowboys aka Gene Autry. Anyway its pretty dumb to lose respect because she prefers to not eat meat or anything that comes from an animal.

BTW don't you be talkin about my girlfriend Carrie Underwood like that!

I went to the same convert in cleveland. We went to see Gary allen. Rascal flatts was HORRIBLE!!!

They are a boy band in cowboy boots. Cant stand em.

Give me some Jason Aldeen, Blake Shelton, Billy Currington, Darious Rutker, Allan Jackson, Brad Paisley, George Strait, B&D, Eric Church....

I like the new stuff alot. I love the old stuff from the early 90's but the country now is great!!
