One of the best things about living in Texas is the local music scene that is filled with artists who can run circles around 99% of the singers who come out of Nashville.....

That was kind of what I was getting at. I'm not saying I don't like their music, I'm just saying that only country singers should be at country music awards (t pain).

As far as the new stuff I like Trent Tomlinson, Bucky Carrington, Josh Turner, James Otto, theres others just cant think of them. I know not all of these are just starting but they are some of the newwer scene.

I have to agree with yall about most of it being pop. Some one mentioned Cross Canadian Ragweed (well they said CCR and I asume this is who they are talking about since the real CCR is really no longer talked about these days) and I saw them about 2 years ago at the Ziegnbock fest and they were the biggest dope smokin Lynard Skynard wannabees I ever seen. They do have some decent stuff.

Pop country like kieth urban and etc is okay but i like the rock country such as Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan and Brad Paisley, brooks and Dunn, toby Keith. Rock country that has some guitar in it but i'm not a big fan of guitar shredding and long solos.

Did anyone else notice the sounds seemed really off. Maybe it was just on my end but nothing sounded right. I turned it on right as Brad Paisley did his thing and as soon as he started I thought he looked a little confused/pissed like it just didn't sound right. I watched a little bit more after that and I just couldn't do it anymore.

I don't like it all, but most of it sounds good. Might not be "real" country, but still sounds good, and sounds 10x better then the other crap on the radio. I rarely listen to the radio though. I usually just burn a mix of cds. Mixture of new and old. One sec Kenny Chesney, next George Strait, Toby Keith, Hank Williams, Alan Jackson, Jimmy Buffet, Cash, Elvis, etc... Most all their stuff sounds good to me. Some of the stuff out there does sound like crap though. I was at a Kenny Chesney concert and this "country group" was out there first, and the lead guy had his hat all ****ed sideways, looked like an idiot, and they didn't sound country at all. Almost had a rap like tone/rhythm to it. I just got up and walked away till Miranda Lambert came out. But this newer country is what I kinda grew up with, so it is all good to me.
One song I heard on the radio that made me change it was the snop dog song dedicated to Cash.

I have never liked country music, especially the stuff you guys are calling "real" country. Sorry.
