Compare the way Carrie Underwood looks now to when she was on the American Idol show. Going vegan was a good thing for her, I guess.

Some of that crap they play on XM is horrible. They play it on the radio, at the local hardware store, and we're running to get out of there.

Billy Joe Shaver is hands down one of my favorite country artists. I could listen to him all day and never get bored.

I have seen him many times at live shows. He is quite a character. Had a wild and crazy life. Most people don't realize that he wrote all the songs on Waylon Jennings' Outlaw album, that took him to the top.

Gary Allan to me is a traditional country guy with a rocker look. But in fact he refuses to play pop country type of songs. This man has had an absolute roller coaster life now. He started his career out as a cowboy hat wearin country singer, now after his wife's suicide death, he's this new tatooed rocker. His songs are so deep and heart felt. For this man to be as successful as he has been and to have happen to him thats happened is just amazing. By far Gary Allan is my favorite, always loved Brooks and Dunn and always will. I've always loved Alabama as well. I know every single Brooks and Dunn song ever, and know majority of alabama. I'm one if i like the song or singer it's because the song has meaning and soul. I'm not a big fan of a song just because it mentions beer or the country, etc. For example Billy Currington's new song people are crazy. I think its popular because it says beer is good. I like he song because of the message it has. About him and this old man shootin the **** at the bar and the old man is a millionaire but you wouldnt think it and his kids treat him like **** so he leaves the money to 'some guy he barely knew'. I don't like songs purely on the beat. They gotta have soul and meaning like a Gary Allan song.

My favorite Gary Allen song is "Don't Tell Mama I Was Drinking".

Oh god idk if i could pick a favorite. I love his new single out called Today. I love learning how to bend, best i ever had, tought little boys, watching airplanes. Probably my favorite is learning how to bend. It think its nice to see him writing and co writing his own music to help cope with the loss of his wife. Shows the real soul behind the song.

I think its more popular because of the whole line, not just because of beer...

Ask my ten year old who the best singer is and he says gene autry, when my gramma was alive she said alan jackson. This new stuff needs to go. I blame shania and mutt. It is like what rock went thru in the late 80's early 90's with the glam crap. Hopefully it is a phase. I miss natural country.

God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy. Either way i think people like it for the wrong reason. Either way it doesnt make me any difference the more i get to listen to it on the radio. I hate when people diss on country because its all about dogs and trucks. WTF do those people listen to lyrics at all? I can name really one song completely about a dog and thats Ol' Red. As far as a song completely about a truck i can't name one. I mean a song or two every now and then mentions a dog or truck but thats not what its about. Country music to me is about real life stuff, Being in love, living in the country/small town, etc. But whatever i'll always love country music no matter what.

I think country music has gone to chit because of people like Kenny Chesney, and Rascal Flatts. I don't care what you say, they are NOT country. Not even remotely close. Country was better before everyone liked it, back before it was "cool." I wish it would go back to the way it sounded those days...

In terms of the song about a truck, the only one I can think of is Bob that Head by rascal flatts.

Travis Tritt says it best with " Country Ain't Country No More".I do like Kenny Chesney in the 90s, but Kenny Buffet in the 2000s is terrible. I saw Lee Brice, Luke Bryan ,and Eric Church already this year and i enjoyed them all. Brantley Gilbert is another small time artist that has good music. The best shows i have ever been to were Alabama's Farewell tour, George Strait, John Anderson, and Jamey Johnson w/ Rhett Akins acoustic show.
