I don't get my hopes too high when getting chow at the golden arches. I wheeled away from the drive thru one day at lunch, got back to work and found there was no meat on my Big Mac. Got the sauce, lettuce, cheese, all that other crap in the stupid jingle, but no meat. Figure that one out.
That's pretty damn funny right there!

I only read the first page so far but I don't think you are over reacting. I think more people should write letters and let companies know how they feel. One letter may not make a difference but thousands might. McDonalds is a franchise though so writing to the head of the company isn't going to accomplish as much as say writing to the owner of that particular McDonalds Restaurant (if it can be considered that). The owner is the one who's pocket book is directly affected.

Just to clarify myself I meant he might be over reacting if it only happened once, but as he later said this is a reoccurring problem so he is definitely justified in writing a letter.

Here is how I have fixed this common problem - I get my lazy *** OUT OF THE TRUCK and go in and order at the counter. Before I leave the counter, I open the bag and inspect every item for correctness. I can't understand a word most employees say through the trashed scratchy speaker outside anyway and I have my doubts whether they can understand ME hollering at the menu board. Another funny thing - quite often, you get faster service at the counter than the drivethrough, most people these days are too goddam lazy to walk in to place a "to go" order.
I rarely go through drive thrus. Why?

I've been rear ended at those damn places too many times in the past.

I love going to the bank after the counter closes inside, but they have the outside drive thru still going. I park my truck and get in line with the cars. People look at me as if I'm nuts.

Well guess what? The first time I decided to try it out in my truck, some sleezy lady forgets she is in drive an takes her foot off the brake and bang right into my trailer hitch. Luckily no damage done to my truck, but she messed her transcooler or radiator up badly and a nice gaping hole in her bumper. From then on in, NEVER will I use a drive thru. I will pretend I'm a truck and just use my own two legs to go through the drive thru.

You are nuts. Most banks have walkup after hours accessible ATM's and deposit boxes.

Our banks around here close as 5 pm. By the time I can get to one it is 5 pm so the lobby is closed, but they keep the drive thru counter open until 6 pm. That is what I am talking about.

The atms are open 24x7 along with the deposit boxes.

I'd never, ever, ever, ever drop my money into a deposit box!

This is nothing new.
SNL addressed it thirty years ago.

"Cheeburger cheeburger cheeburger chip chip Pepsi Pepsi"

"I don't want Pepsi, I want a Coke."

"NO COKE! PEPSI!"

Not sure if the law is the same in NY as it is in NJ, but any bank or any company that has a drive thru will not serve us unless your in a vehicle.. It is for safety reasons... They don't care if your truck got rear-ended or hit, they are worried about you getting ran over....

How about if you are on a Moped or heck, even a Motorcycle? Most people around here don't take their motorcycle through a drivethru or if they do, they park it next to where they are.

I did a quick search on this... and there is no such animal. Why? Because I know of a lot of places that the lobby closes before the drive thru. I see a lot of people that own bicycles or nothing at all walk up to a drive thru at our banks around here. I could see slew of lawsuits arising if there was ever a law like that.

Funny you should mention cheeburger. Is this a chain/franchise? The other day near a job site I saw a place called Cheeburger Cheeburger. While working some guy drove up and gave us a take out menu. Their claim to fame seems to be that you get to create your own burgers though I've heard that before at other places. They have what they call The Pounder (sounds like a violent sex toy). It's a 20 oz burger. Then they have a 14oz 3/4 pounder and a 10oz 1/2 pounder.

Had a couple Cheeburger Cheeburger's here in Raleigh a few yrs. back, two that I knew of. Both went out of business in 1 yr. First one was replaced by Jason's Deli - the second one another failing restaurant.

When they were here they weren't that bad - just expensive. Myself I prefer the new Steak n' Shake that just opened ~ 1 yr. ago.

Still awaiting a White Castle to open up.............

I've only ever seen one White Castle in my life. I was starting to think they were just a myth.
