1961 Mercury Comet 4-dr sedan, auto. Bought for $110.00, sold for $70.00 3 weeks later. Hated that car. Wanted a straight shift. NO 16 year-old boy in his right mind wants a 4 dr. auto…
1959 Opel Station wagon. 3 spd 4 banger. Ugly, but I loved that little car.
1967 SS 396 2 dr. 4 speed. Black on yellow w/black int.
1966 SS 396 2 dr. 4 speed. Maroon w/black int.
1968 Chevelle 2 dr. 327 3 spd on column. Nassau Blue w/black int. It had 7,000 miles on it when I bought it for $1,395 in late 1968. Nearest thing to a new car I ever had before I became an adult.
1967 MGB GT
1962 Corvette factory fuel 4 spd. Roman Red w/red int. w/red hard top. Someone made me an offer I couldn’t refuse when I sold it. Still, I wish I had never sold it.
1972 Olds Cutlass 2 dr. 350 3 spd on column. Brown with black int. The
ONLY Cutlass I have ever seen equipped like that. Hot car for coming
not being a 442 or an H/O. Always loved the sound of a Buick/Olds 350.
1970 Buick Skylark 2 dr. 350 auto. First car I ever owned with a/c.
Again, always loved the sound of a Buick/Olds 350.
1973 Datsun 240Z
1966 Corvette convertible. 427 4 spd. Factory knock-offs. Nassau blue. Should never have sold it, but I still know where it is, he has kept it stored in a garage ever since I sold it to him.
1967 Mustang GTA convertible. 390 C-6 4bbl. factory a/c. 12 mpg on the hwy with a tailwind…lol
1968 Camaro Z-28 Hugger Orange 302 4 speed. Didn’t know what I had at the time in terms of future value, but I never ever really liked Camaro’s.
1978 Mazda RX7. The firstest and fastest of the 12A Rotary engines, no a/c, pockets in the doors. Serial #731 of all the RX7’s ever produced. May 1978.
Yellow w/ black int. NO a/c, no sunroof. REALLY fun to drive.
1979 Mazda RX7. Wanted a/c and a roof.
1982 Mazda RX7 GSL
1983 Mazda Rx7 GSL/SE Havana Brown w/ brown cloth interior. Really fun car.
1987 Ford Bronco II V-6 auto 4X4. What a blast to drive around.
1981 Chevy El Camino SS (documented), 305 auto (oh! well), black over silver. A Cowboy Cadillac if there ever was one.
1985 Chevy El Camino SS (documented), 350 auto (had been converted to TPI and 700r4). Black over silver. Not nearly as solidly built a car as the 1981 SS. Headers and dual exhausts. FAST!
1986 Cadillac ElDorado – HATED that aluminum 4.1 block. Bought it for the wife. Got them to throw in a GM unlimited mileage extended warranty. Whenever I had it repaired under warranty (which was plenty) they had to give me a new one to drive for FREE!……..lol
1992 Cadillac Seville STS 4 dr. 4.9 V8 (NOT the Northstar – that came in 1993)
1996 Ford Explorer XLT 4 dr. 5.0 AWD loaded
1997 Ford F-150 XLT SCab Lariat 5.4 4WD loaded. LOVED that truck!
1998 Ford Explorer XLT 4 dr. 5.0 AWD loaded, didn’t like it nearly as much as we liked the 1996. Driver’s seat and footroom less roomy and not as comfortable as the 1996 was.
1997 Ford F-150 XL (cloth bench seat and rubber floor mat), 4.6 auto RC 8’ longbed 2wd. We still have, and use it as a work/tow truck. Currently has 218,000 miles on it. Never has had a major failure. Still runs exceptionally well and drives out smoothly. About to be sold soon. I don’t want to own it when the engine or tranny finally pass on…
1948 Ford Pickup truck. Flathead V8, 3 spd. on floor, 6 volt. My grandfather bought it brand new. Needs a total restoration someday…sigh!
Vehicles I wish I had owned but never did –
A 1968 ½ Shelby Mustang GT350 convertible. Highland Green w/auto.
A 1970-1972 Chevelle SS 454, even a hardtop would do.
A 1970-1972 Buick Skylark GS or Stage I convertible.
A 1932 Ford 5-window Coupe Street Rod.
Related to the one listed above I used to fantasize about owning BOTH the actual “**** yellow” Ford Coupe AND the Bad Black ’55 Chevy from the movie “American Graffiti” and display them. Someone already beat me to it a few years ago.
An F-150 L
Floyd Garrett has a cool place in Sevierville Tenn. Just a few miles from Gatlinburg called “Muscle Car Museum”. If I had enough bucks I would buy the whole place…lol
