Latest Victim of Cruise Control Fire

Saw this on Friday (the 13th) around the corner from my house. Not sure if it belongs to a neighbor or one of their guests.

Looks like someone did not go in for the recall...

Good thing the truck was not in the garage at the time.

BTW, for those of you who don't have time to bring your trucks in for the recalled part, you can buy them from some Ford dealers online.

A ex of mine I talked into buying a Ford truck had hers burn to the ground abour 3 months ago. She went in for the recall and they said she was not included and did nothing. 6 months later her truck burned to the ground along with the 2 vehicles parked next to hers while she was in class.
Ford gave her a 10k credit to spend at any dealership on Ford products. Between her insurance and the 10k she bought a used Explorer

Are you one of Ford's liability lawyers?

As for the glass melting, I think these fires get started close to the firewall. Probably lots of heat and flames coming out the rear seam of the hood. Oh, and the 100* temps we have been having might have softened the glass up alittle, too.

Only 10k?!?! I'd be suing. Bitches going to give me a brand new equivalent current year model truck.

It was a 2001 2wd, 4.6 xlt with over 120k on it when it burned. I honestly think 10k was more than what the truck was worth, esp considering what high gas prices have done to the value of trucks

i'm thinking if they're gonna hand me 10K i'm gonna go start mine on fire right now. only a joke. I had the recall done to mine already, and the guys who did it we're even nice enough to screw up my outside thermometer. they did offer to fix that at my cost of course.
