Lots of 'em. Cars, vans and motorhomes, too. The recall list has been expanded a few times. By some reports the total is 10 million vehicles, total. Some folks have said that they brought their 2003 and newer F150 in and told it was not included. Might be some places on the web you can enter in your VIN to see if you are under the recall. The link below has a list.

Her dad is personal friends with the owner of Helffman Ford here in Houston. I am not sure if Ford would have done this on its own or if Helffman talked Ford into it. Either way between the 10k and the insurance payout I am sure she came out way ahead

Yep, I met a couple who lost their house to their F-150 setting it on fire.

Theirs was in the driveway, not fully in the garage, but it was close enough to catch the house ablaze. The fire moved withing the walls, and spread to the attic, and engulfed the house in no time.

The man said had his daughter not said she smelled something burning, they may have lost one child, because her room was right above the garage. He's convinced they would have lost her, had the truck been in the garage that night, like it normally was.

Insurance helped them rebuild their home, and they got nearly 100K to replace their home furnishings...

I guess, sometimes, a fire can be a good thing- as long as your children or pets are not lost.

It's effed up they put the "another Ford" stipulation on it... If mine spontaneously combusted like that, I think I'd be going to another brand- even if it were used.

Infiniti, Acura....

AS much as I bleed blue I also would have to look to another company. I know things happen, but Ford should have this under control. They told this chick her truck was not under the recall and not to worry, now thats some bull shyt

I don't condone sueing for dumb things but she should because her family could of been killed if that truck had been in the garage because of their negligence.

Puts a whole different spin on the whole "nutswinging" aspect of things when something like this happens close to home.

Am I right?

It is not really the fact it happened to someone I know. If she had blown off the recall then I would have no sympathy for her. Im pissed because she brought it in and they turned her away then this happened. Did I mention she is 7 months pregnant (not mine!) so it could have even been worse than it was. Im mad because this is a widely known problem and Ford and the dealers are playing it down when people & property are on the line.
Just so ya know I still love Ford and hate Toyota

My neighbor lost her Crown Vic and her house a few months ago. She had it scheduled to take the car in the next day for the cruise control recall (her husband got the notice months ago, but was in the hospital and eventually passed the day after Chirstmas). A neighbor saw the car on fire and got her out safely. House is still boarded up, but Ford finally hauled the car off two weeks ago. hopefully she will get a new car and house soon.
