Had lunch with my dad today, it sucks seeing him with his health declining. He's 84 and always seen him do everything for his self and take care of himself.The last month has been a big spiral down. He had a stroke when we were in Colorado, drove himself to the hospital and stayed 2 nights. I was just informed he has had 2 other mini strokes over the last week and refuses to go to the Dr.
He had a tumor removed off his brain about 13 years ago and they put a shunt in to keep fluid off the brain. Now it's not doing its job and seems to be the cause for the stroke a few weeks ago. He said he has no intentions of even considering another surgery. So basically his health is headed down quickly.
Just sucks. But what can you do? Nothing.
Hate to hear that, Coy. He sounds like an independent cuss. Kind of guy I like to be around.
Look on the bright side, Coy -- your old man has already got 12 good years on my dad and my father-in-law, who both passed away at the age of 73. In watching the two of them go, it was amazing to see men who were independent and vibrant only a few years earlier in their 60's be gone by their early 70's......
The way I see it, you need to do your "crazy retirement living" in your 60's, because nothing is guaranteed in your 70's and anything you get out of your 80's is just icing on the cake!

You are right, He worked his butt of until he was 76 years old working for Department of Transportation Tire Division. They literally made him retire , He would probably still be working to this day if they would have let him.
He's lived a great life, and has enjoyed every minute of it.. Just sorta hit me hard seeing him going down hill fast this month.
On to better new, Got my Nitto's in today and really liking them. Truck is quite now, feels more nimble and the fuel mileage is already looking like its going to improve. Maybe i will be back to where i was when the truck was new and had the oem michelin's on it.
Did a WOT run at 30mph, Tires cried for a split second and hooked! The oem tires and the coopers would flat out roast them and scream all the way up to 50mph.

My cousin just came out of his second brain surgery, and he's 20 yrs old. The first one was 5 years ago and this one was much less invasive. Essentially a huge leap in technology and robotic surgery in the last few years.
I bet you could actually talk him into it just from a recovery point of view. Nothing compared to what your dad would have gone through 20 yrs ago
Do yal remember how to do the Revs per mile calculations? My old 275/65/18s were at 650 revs per mile and the speedometer was about 1 mph off.. These 265/65/18s show it at 638.98 and then adding the 3 percent squish i came out to 658 revs per mile. Does that seem right?

Sorry to hear that.....it does suck
But some people do realize when it's time to go and there's nothing anyone can do to stop them
Going over to the farm this afternoon, see if I can get a flat aired up on the Mule, get it started and on a trailer. Going to take it to Burleson if I can get it loaded up.

My cousins just got done adding a product called "tire *****" to all there atv's and utility vehicles out on the farm....they got sick of having flats and low tires....there's also a foam insert that's sold too that's cheaper than the tire *****

I'll look into that. I hope I can make it from Brownsboro to Athens(25 miles) towing the Mule with the 5.0. If I can get to Athens Ford dealer, I can trade for an EB, to go on home.
