Overcast but no threat of rain here in Houston -- I think I might sneak out from report writing for an hour or two and take the Ranger out for a little drive in the country.....

I still love the 80 to 86 F150s. I had a 80 f100 with the 5.0 and it was a stout truck. The color was horrible though

Those were some nice looking trucks back then. I bought my '84 new in October '84 and kept it until April '97 when I got a '97 lariat. The '84 had a 302 with a C-6 transmission. 2 tone red with the Victoria paint scheme. Needed the top to keep the cargo dry..also had a sofa bed in the rear for camping. Cooper Discoverer tires 31x10.5x15 on American Racing Outlaw 2 wheels. Truck was in perfect shape until some idiot ran into the passenger side.

Mine was bought in 99 and was my first vehicle. A older gentleman had it and it was a 1 owner. First thing I did was take it to the exhaust shop, got both cats cut off and had dual exhaust with 12inch glasspacks. It would make your ears bleed . Poor old truck was run hard the whole time I had it. Numerous trips to mexico for the weekend in acuna during high school and all over the lakes around here and no telling where else.It never let me down.

In 2002 I was coming back from work and a guy rearended me and insurance totaled it out.

Paw -- do you remember what you paid for that truck when it was new? I'm guessing around $11,000.00......???

$9700 OTD...this was a closeout on the '84's. The 85's were already on the lot. They even threw in a chrome rear bumper. The 84's were the last year with carbs..85's had fuel injection and overdrive...I had the 3 speed C-6 and had the heavier duty rear axle. I pulled my boats many miles with that truck. No Lariat in '84 so the XLT was top of the line.

No snow here...still in the mid 70's. And that was after a cool front moved in!
