Hahaha!

 

There use to be a great BBQ restuarant (famous daves)right off the interstate around the mall area in Abilene. They closed it down a couple years ago though. We use to make the drive up to Abilene just to eat there.

Last time we were there we ate at Stillwater BBQ and it was very good also

 

We will probably go to Casa Herreras. Used to eat there a lot when we lived there, 26 years ago.

 

parking brake for the truck i'm supposed to be getting is apparently $450 for each side....

 

That sounds familiar, I think we ate there a few months ago and it was just bland. Didn't have much of a taste. The place i am thinking of was a pink building on ridgemar by the mall. When we passed back threw Abilene we stopped at Enrique's and was mucho better

 

You're starting to worry me, Coy -- there is no reason in the world a Texan should drive out of their way to eat BBQ made by a guy from Wisconsin.......

 

Some of the best BBQ I've ever had came off a pit smoker trailer. 300lb black guy named "cloudy"
He made large portion sandwiches for 5 bucks.

 

Sadly, there isn't many BBQ places around Angelo and the ones that are here isn't very good The best was old time pit BBQ and it burned down. It had a affiliation of some sort with Coopers BBQ.

 

Need to take you to a BBQ place right by my work, but they're closed on Sunday, right Jim?

 

Made it home. We were too late to go to Herreras, ended up at Chili's. If Herreras was going to be bland, glad we were too late.

 

Which one? Always looking for some good BBQ on my (now innumerable)road trips......

 

There was an old black guy that used to set-up his trailer in the parking lot of our local Lowe's store on the weekend and I still think he had the best brisket I have ever tasted! Used to love to run over there on a Saturday and buy a sliced beef sandwich, a bag of Fritos, and a can of Diet Coke and have a picnic lunch on the tailgate of my old Ranger!

I was driving on I-45 through Corsicana yesterday and a guy was pulling a smoker trailer behind his truck that obviously had a fire in the pit. I'm not sure if this is legal or not, but when I drove by it sure smelled good.....

 

 

Yep, closed on Sunday. But Whatabooger was open.

I liked Coopers BBQ down at Mason and any Bodacious.
