I stayed in New Braunfels last night and with any luck all I'll have to do today is hop in the Cavalier and drive back to Houston. Hopefully the rest of the world is onboard with that plan and doesn't bombard me with phone calls and emails before I get on the road!
Don't think I will do my continuing education for CPAs this year. I have till July 31 but think it's time to officially retire that badge. I'll still work some, just can't hang out my shingle anymore.

Finally got to take the truck for a little highway run today. First time since November/ December.
Cruised up to Lamesa close to Lubbock to pick up a trailer. Put the truck back to stock and took off running 70mph and got 21.0 mpg. Talked to a friend for a while went to lunch got the trailer and headed back and ran 70 all the way back with a pretty stout headwind and managed 15.2 MPG. Not bad at all.
What really impressed me was the gallons used.. i figured it would be off some since i ran empty up there and then towing coming back. Filled up and it was almost dead on..

They also got some good rain up there a couple days ago, around 8 inches.. The closer i got i noticed more standing water, then saw a detour sign on 87 and it was under water.Tried to take a couple detours and the road was covered in red mud. Finally the 3rd county road i found was good enough to get back to 87 N.
