Having grown up out in the country, that is easily the one thing I love most about living in town! I can't tell you how many times I was in the middle of a project back in the day and had to run to the hardware store just to get a few small items. By the time you ran 20 minutes into town, spent 10 minutes at the hardware store getting what you needed, and then 20 minutes back home, you burned up almost an entire hour for a handful of 5-cent bolts.....

From where I live now I can go from home, to the bank, to Target, to Lowe's, to Academy, to HEB, to Wal-Mart, to any auto parts store I want and then grab some lunch at one of numerous restaurants and by the time I get back home I've put less than 5 miles on the car!.....

However, I won't lie to you and say that I can pee in my yard anytime I want and not be seen.....

I love living in the country. So quiet and if I don't have what I need to finish a job, that's a great excuse for never starting it! A slackers creed. Besides, I pee where I want to.

Same here...after 7 yrs they're finally starting to build new houses in the subdivision so I sometimes have to run inside to take a wizz... losing my privacy...not use to seeing all these new faces walking up and down the street in the evening!!

Yes, there certainly are parts that I miss about living out in the sticks! Where I grew up we were right on a lake (hey -- it was Minnesota!) that was surrounded by woods and farm fields -- very few people around. I can close my eyes and still hear the sounds of boats on the water and the gentle "clang-clang" that was made by the little pulley on the top of the mast of our neighbors sail boat! Truly a bucolic way to spend your childhood.

Unfortunately, when I go back there now, the woods have been turned into a regional park that's usually full of drunk teenagers and all the farm fields have been sold to developers who built one McMansion after another on the land......

I don't live in the country but I **** behind the shed LOL. I remember one night about 5 years ago I had come from the gym and was driving to a friends house. Had to pee so bad so I pulled into a lake a few towns over shut my lights off (night time) and whizzed in the dirt parking lot. Passed a cop a mile down the street when i left lol.

Congrats on the new place, Coy. Just moved into mine a few weeks ago. Sounds like you're going to have a lot less dirt under your tires!

What a realization....after being at this house for 11 years I can't believe all the stuff that's has collected in the garage....just wow

Cleaned for 6 hours and hauled the misc stuff to a storage unit...uffda

Got the boy involved, since it's his graduation party being held there ....he got involved with running the broom as a scub brush while I used a soap cannon then onto rinsing he got to squeegee all the water off the floor and out the door...the garage is now spotless from floor to ceiling
