I've been narrowing down what vehicles I am going to look at. I'm starting to lean away from Ford because I just don't think it's the best value. The 2014/15 Mazda 6's really have my attention. I want a stick and the car to be engaging to drive. Everything points at this car (going to test drive one soon) because I can get the sport suspension because it's all that is offered and not have to pay a premium for junk I don't want on the inside. Prewired for Fogs (would add them) and basic 17" wheels which I'd use in the winter anyway and get 19 or 20's for the rest of the year. If I was buying a truck now it might even be an XL. I'm just not into the frills or the stupid high costs.
agreed....

I don't understand why the DFW dealers aren't doing deals like that. They may **** me off like they did in 2002 and I'll go buy another Silverado.

I read a newspaper article in the last month or so that said Ford was going to be making a calculated decision on minimizing the discounts they offer on the 2014 trucks to make sure they don't run low on inventory during the changeover to the 2015 model year. I suppose they figure they can always increase the discounts on the 2014's if they need to blow them out once the 2015's actually start showing up on the dealer lots. In the meantime, they might actually put some extra margin in their pocket over the next few months.

If it were me, and I wanted a 2014, I'd wait for the 2015's to hit the lots on the idea that most people will probably want the new models once they're actually available and then swoop in for a good deal on a laggard -- especially if I were in a situation like you where you don't actually need to get a new ride right at this second. Of course, you might have to be less choosy about which truck you buy because of inventory constraints, but from a financial standpoint, that might be your best call.

Or, as you said, you could always say "F-You" to Ford and grab a new Silverado -- I have to admit I really like the look of their new body style when I see them out-and-about around town.....

I couldn't agree more -- I am so happy I bought both my truck and my Mustang when they were offered at much more reasonable prices and without all the computer gadgetry they load vehicles up with in this day and age!

Over the past 4-5 years there has been a tremendous shift in both the affordability of new cars and the way they have become overloaded with a bunch of computer-based BS that I have absolutely no interest in. It's all fine and dandy when they're new, but let's talk 7-8 years down the road when all that crap starts to malfunction and begins to "$500-dollar-you-to-death" in repair costs......

Looks good. That stuff is pretty easy to work with.

A guy told me you can take a punch or chisel to the cut ends you can make them look more like the stone it self. That way you don't have the sawn end showing. Try it out on some scrap and see if you like it, might make the corners look a tad better.

I can't stand Silverados. Ugly and stupid, inside and out. If I HAD to switch, I guess I'd go Dodge.
