About 2 weeks after I bought my 03 (used) I noticed the same thing. I called the dealer and they asked if I had tried to start it with another key, nope. They couldn't give me a solid answer but said the same as Patrick said, if it runs then no problem. It is just a warning light for some would be thief. I only notice it from time to time.

With little to no wind this morning, 100 mile run to Athens, averaged 21.0 running 70 to 75 except when going through several small towns. Truck has 850 miles on it now. Very pleased with that. On this tank, about 25% in town, averaging 19.8. The in town average was 17.1

I was going to get a polycarbonate shell case but with some numerous reviews about the computer metal housing corroding I opted not to go that route...IMO
A skin is just vinyl printed to whatever design you order...peel and stick....keeps the aluminum from getting scratched
Now the carbon fiber case is a different animal...
RFD shielding and designed to with stand the elements or whatever one goes through from day to day....
I was doing my research yesterday....

Well I put the truck back to the stock tune for a while and put my programmer up.. these cold mornings make it seem like it has a extra 100hp. I was cruising in town this morning and started to pass a car and hit the throttle about half way and it spun the tires in 3rd gear, about 5 seconds later flashing lights in the rearview.
Thank goodness i only got a warning and of course the wife had to drive by when i was sitting on the side of the road with the cop.. Got a call saying i should park the truck for a while and drive the cavalier
Maybe this is a good excuse to get the Mark VIII up and going.. The wife doesnt know the potential the old lincoln has
