I usually try to run my tanks completely though before refilling because I always track my mileage over the long term to get an accurate idea of what kind of fuel economy I am getting across a wide range of driving conditions.

The thing that I have noticed so far with the Cavalier is that on the tanks where I can pretty much set the cruise and go 70-75 down the highway, I will routinely get between 30-31 mpg. As soon as I mix in a fair number of shorter trips where I am just beating around town it will drop the mileage for that particular tank down into the 26-27 mpg range.

Oddly enough, when I crunched the numbers on this tank, it came in at 30.17 mpg -- shocking considering the fact that I was idling in stop-and-go traffic with the AC on for two straight hours! I was certain this tank was going to deliver one of the poorest mileage ratings I have had so far with this car.....

I looked at a job in Alvarado yesterday and just hopped on the internet to check the weather archives to see what the weather conditions were like on that project while it was under construction. I noticed on the radar that there was a huge cell of heavy rain just west of Alvarado and another big cell in the Mansfield/Midlothian area, so I'm thinking the odds are pretty good that Burleson will get something there today.

This is the time of the year when I still have a hard time adjusting to Southern weather! The "Minnesota Boy" in me tells me that now that we're in September, the weather should be getting chilly and it's time to break out those long sleeved t-shirts, but then I walk out the door and hit the 90-degree heat and humidity of Houston.....

I guess they're testing out the emergency floating bridge for when they start working on the actual bridge.

Was thinking the same last night while smoking a cigar out front of the house. Friends up north are posting that it's sweatshirt weather....
Love living here in Houston.

I believe you did. Coworkers coming in from Fort Worth said it was heavy rain that direction

In a few months you won't have to keep clearing the driveway to get out. We get about the same weather as Houston but with a little more humidity. In fact the wife and I were in League City last week at her sisters house and I found it a little cooler then in Louisiana!!
