Can't decide if I want a 3.55 electric locking rear or a 3.31 open. leaning toward the 3.31 open.

Remember that time you got stuck in the mud on your farm? You said it was the only time you've ever needed or wished you had 4WD. Perhaps the 3.55 E-Locker would be a fitting compromise? Admittedly, 4WD might be unnecessary, but at least with the E-Locker you'll have some sort of coverage if you're ever in a bind.

If you get a 5.0 you'll need the 3.73 or 3.55 to get it rolling!

If your looking at another 5.0 (which im sure you are) get the 3.55 E locker. I noticed alot of difference between the 3.31 and 3.55 when driving the 5.0's a few weeks ago.. Take em both up a good hill and you will be sold on the 3.55's

Now if you get the better more faster engine (eb) go for the 3.31s

I have 3.55 LS now, and it did not help at all. I seriously doubt a 4x4 would have helped. You've heard the old saying about owl stuff? This was rain softened clay, could hardly walk in it.

The 10th generation at first looked weird to me with the rounded front. Ended up with a '97 Expedition and a '97 F-150!

I've had that one occasion in three years to use the LS and it didn't help. Doubt the EL would have been any better. With the 3.31s I would get slightly better mpg.
