I'd say so!

Loose connections? It also looks like there may be some heat damage on the large ground looking at the discoloration of the copper. You may want to inspect the insulation on the surrounding wires just for giggles.

I have a few things to suspect on what caused this.....

1. a few weeks back a 3 way switch went bad and was backfeeding through the circuit.....I got a good arc flash when I found that out....

2. it wasn't the switch but one of the hot wires had a knick in it and rubbed through to one of the grounds and then caused the backfeed to happen....

3. the gfci outlet failed, which is on the same circuit, and caused the backfeed to happen...I've seen this 2 times before in commercial properties....

4. the neighbor hood kids were messing around with my outlets trying to steal power again....lil bastiges...
