I gotta make a trip to the Ford dealer to get a new bolt for the front hanger on the leaf springs. Instead of messing around disconnecting fuel lines and lowering the gas tank, I'm just going to take a saw zall to the bolt and stick a new one in from the outside

If I remember correctly, that's the bolt that cost $374.69 at the dealer.

Probably about $178.57 to ship it too

One of my friends brothers changed the leaf springs on his 04 FX4 a year or two ago and he said the bolt was around $30. That's still ridiculous if you ask me.

Ok so I'm in the process of ordering my gryphon right now. I set my custom tunes up for 4.56 gears because I know it takes a while for them to get made so I was hoping that I might have gotten those in by then. I figured that even if I dont ever get them in that I would be fine running the canned tunes (I know, I know, the custom tunes are SO much better haha). I have a question though, when I went to the page to order it all the other vehicles said CS or CTS by them ( I am wanting to purchase the CTS ), but the F150 just said gryphon. I filled everything out and now at the credit card part and it says I am 80% complete and I don't want to go too far and order the wrong thing. I've been looking back at the first page trying to see if I missed it and cant find it. Just wondering if it is going to ask me if I want the CTS at the end or if i need to hit something else from the begining.

Thanks guys My Haynes manual came in today too so I will be looking for projects I can do myself that I find manageable. The older I get, I want to do more and more of my maintenance so by the time I have kids, there will be plenty of stuff to teach I think this manual and my Ford service dvd's will be a good arsenal. And I swear if you guys jinx me with it going smoothley, I'm gonna kill you guys

I figure if something goes wrong, we'll just take care of it as the guy told me. He's got a part store within walking distance to his house. Always be prepared

Hey bud, I know you can change the gear ratio yourself in the menu, it's not a set feature. I think they want as much info as possible so if he can alter something that would benefit you with that gearing, Bill will.

If they send the programmer to you already set for 4:56's, maybe it'll trick the truck into thinking it has them. Save some cash maybe.....

Btw... I need to grab 2 cotter pins and 2 nuts it says in the manual. Forgot about those. I can't mind a part number anywhere at all. Any ideas? I saw a bunch of different cotter pins on Advance's website, but not sure which ones I need and what nut I need either. I have the spindle nuts

no need to do anything with the fuel lines, just pull the fuel filler neck off the tank and you have enough room to drop it about 18" and move it 2' side to side or towards the front.

We had no problems dropping Stealth's tank with the truck on stands with a normal floor jack. Actually i did Lee's too now that i think of it.
