Boyd Coddington - RIP
If you all love him so much why don’t you step up to plate and pluck down half a million for one of his cars? Come on its got his name associated with it the car has got to be worth at least twice that much. Yes you need to get to the next Barrett Jackson, even if it means selling your house, and buy one of the Messiah’s creations. Then you can be like the rest of the poseurs taken in by the marketing hype that you so readily ascribe to.

Coddington was a genius and the world will never be the same. Clearly he belongs up there with Michelangelo. ‘Scuse me while I weep for humanity.

Here's my OPINION on BC. I didn't like him but not for the reasons you guys have stated. He made his name and his money off the backs of others (in the later years at least). Now that in and of itself is not wrong the problem I have is he worked these guys like rented mules with no regard for thier home life. It was his way or the highway and if they didn't toe the line they were gone. And to top that he did not wish them to succeed themselves. That is why he held such hard feeling for Foose. As long as Foose worked for him and made him money "anonymously" boyd was fine. But as soon as Foose wanted to strike out on his own, he thought Foose "stabbed him in the back" It's the same story with his painter and the guy that ran his CNC machine. As long as they were his little lemmings and did what they were told they were in his good graces. When they "defected" and went to work for Foose they were scum to him no matter how much work they had done for him in the past. Anyone who has that much animosity for someone who wants to succeed in the same field and in the same way that Boyd did is crap in my book.

What exactly has Shelby done?
He took an exisiting engine and put it in an existing car and suddenly he's the messiah?
Shelby has always been about the almighty dollar and cares nothing about his craft.

Who said anything about Shelby being a messiah.
As for Shelby out for the almighty dollar, you know this for "fact" how?
You and Dr. Frank are the only two that have mentioned anything about putting these people on pedistals. ( aka, worship and messiah )

Don't try to explain it Smiggs. These guys have some past issues they're dealing with. Some people just don't get it. - Og

lol. not even sure how to respond to that. But if it makes you feel better to go on a rant that has nothing to do with the comments I posted, go right ahead.
your unwillingness to give him the credit he deserves for the things he added to the hobby makes you look petty and jealous, imo.
