I think the 13B engine was fuel injection. Actually the 85 RX7 was a very nice little car especially the top of the line GSL SE.

I'm sure Foose and everyone who knew Boyd feels the same way we all do. He was a car guy. That's makes him relative to all who loves cars, trucks, etc. We all were affected by his great works, some even inspired us. Boyd will be missed by all who really love cars. God bless him. - Og

As someone who has met the man, he is far from an Elitist. He is a very humble man, who doesn't think much of himself. You fault him for other people obssesing over his work ? You fault him for his dedication to perfection that led to his success ? If so, my friend, I worry about your image of the American Dream.

I would probably consider someone who builds $500,000 cars and sells them to Rock Stars and other multi millionaires an elitist yes. I commend his charity work but otherwise, no, he didn't mean anything to me. Yeah he was a hot rodder businessman, so what? You all act like things would have been so much different without him as if he made some earth shattering contributions. It's the work of backyard hot rodders, not the big money conglomerates, that I find interesting.

Give anyone enough money to spend and their cars will be all over the magazines and everyone will be lining up getting their knee pads out to proclaim the man a genius. God it's sickening listening to these sycophants and industry shills fall in line one behind the next. It isn't about cars, it's about the money!

No, we are acting out of respect for a man who left behind a family and by all accounts, was a good human being.

^^^ exactly. He contributed plenty. I like looking at some of his cars, his work, and his ideas. No, I would never want one. Yes, I do all my own work, and prefer it that way. If, some day, I become blessed with half the skills this man had, I would be more then willing to sell my work to some high named, macho, big money guy.

Remember, its already been said, Boyd himself didn't start life rich. He did not start off making $100k cars. He started small, someone saw his work and appreciated it enough to pay big bucks. The word spread and more and more people were willing to pay. NOT because he does what the next guy does, but because he does his own thing, BETTER.

Yeah, most of Boyd's vehicles were purchased by rich a$$hats who would be enormously challenged by a spark plug change on a lawnmower, but that doesn't take away from the incredible art in much of his work.

Many of these same rich old guys have drop-dead gorgeous wives. Is it fair? He11 no -- but she's still freaking hot!

Oh Yes! Money can buy pretty women! We've all seen that.

Just curious, what are your thoughts on Carrol Shelby?

Boyd started out as a backyard hot rodder. with a knack for design, and the ability to create what he saw in his head.

The hobby as a whole would be different without him. HE is one of the main reasons that we aren't all still riding around on one of the 6 versions of wheels that Cragar sells.

Sure, if he didn't do it, someone else would have probably come along after him and done it, but that fact remains he did do it. he is the one that started out building cars in his garage at night, and ended up where he was.

And it isn't all about the money. Foose isn't all abuot the money .. the money helps, but those guys build because they love it .. the $$$ just lets them get more carried away.

whethe you mean to or not .. you come across like a jealous hater.
