CB radios......WHY??????

Ok I see a lot of people saying they install Cb radios in their trucks. Now I can understand using one if you drive a semi truck and all the other truckers have them. Or I can understand if it was 1974! Well folks its 2007. So get with technology and use a damn cell phone! You can even get this little thing that goes in your ear and you can talk to people without even using your hands! I guess maybe its "cool" to have a CB radio. So all you CB radio users should remove your CD player and add a tape deck, remove your fuel injected motor and get a carborated one, and get rid of your power windows and locks and add hand cranked ones. While your at it go WAAAAAYYYYY back in time and throw away your wheels and put square blocks on there instead. And do all this while wearing bellbottoms, cheesy silk shirts, wearing big afros, and listening to disco music.

DUDE!!! Dont be so obtuse. You are spewing feces and showing your lack of knowledge. A CB will cover your *** when you are on the highway...you know where every Highway patrol officer is...See in any benefits of that? All you do is ask "Southbound, hows your backdoor looking?" You are headed northbound, the direction the trucker just came from... Highway shut down due to an accident that you cant see for MILES...The CB will allow you to take an alternate route, OR tell you if a HYPO is waiting to bust ya for four wheelin across the median to go another direction or get to the access road...

I have no reason to bash you but I dont care whjat you say CB radios are ancient technology and are useless for anyone other than semi truck drivers. The only person I know who ever had a CB radio was my dad back in the early 80's when I was about 5. Seriously they are a waste of money. And this is the internet, there are no "REAL" consequences.

Dave I am going to agree with Shinesintx here. I trail ride and keeping communication with everyone os easy with a CB. As mentioned Cops and detours are a piece of cake with a CB. Most CB's usually has a weather station also, saved me once from a nasty storm while camping on the beach. When the hurricane was getting close here in Tx 2 years ago the phone lines were all tied up. Cb's let me stay in touch with loved ones on the road when cells woulnt go through. Road trips are also much much more entertaining

I listen to hiphop as well as country and almost everything in between. Why are you trying to bash me personally. So what if I like Kanye West's music. I guess you must have a CB radio and you must have taken offense to my comments on using ancient technology. Your welcome to go through my myspace page and try to nit pick through it to find stuff to make fun off even though I dont know why you feel the need to bash people. I dont care. I actually post it in my sig for everyone to see.

Mine isnt installed but I keep one in the truck...used it a couple weeks ago on a camping trip up north to keep tabs on the popo's!
Like mentioned above they are great for road trips with multiple vehicles, trail riding and are a good failsafe when everything else goes wrong!

Sometimes, a good bashing just needs to be unleashed...You really trashed quite a few guys here in the forum, and besides, with that type of post, you were begging for it. Had to be done, just glad I got to ya first. Maybe, but not likely, you"ll think before you post.

I will wait...and see if anyone comes to your rescue...

Seriously...just becuase I like kanye's music does not mean I am an uneducated person that wears "bling". I guess this is turniong into some sort of race war or something and you are hating on the hip hop culture. What is ironic is how similar the hiphop culture is to the backwoods white trash culture. I belong to neither of the two but I do like some of both cultures music. How bout we keep this on topic....I wanted to know why people use CB's. I honestly had no clue why.
