I have a cell phone and a CB radio. When i travel, the radio gets used the whole trip and the cell stays in my pocket.
Just wish I'd have a good place to install it in my new truck ....

High-ster,

What kinda antenna do you use? I'm looking for one that I can use to pair up with my CobraLTD that doesn't require me to drill holes in my pretty truck lol

I've got a Midland magnetic base.

Doesn't mar the paint and attaches firmly.

Thanks High-ster,

Me and Pops were planning a trip to BB tomorrow anyway, I think I've just spent $15 of his $55 gift card lol

Where did you mount it, and how high does it clear over the cab height?

I power my unit from my rear power point, my Midland is a portable so the unit sits in my console's rear cup holder.

On nice days I run the antenna wire out the back window, on rainy days I route the wire thru the rear doors.

The Midland antenna is about 30" tall and I just stick it on my roof. Believe me, it ainta gonna move. I gotta use two hands to remove it.

I like my portable cuz it converts to a mobile hand held unit for hunting.

Nice. I was gonna buy the Midland antenna today but it's apparently an online-only at BB, so I guess I'll snag it in the next couple of days...I used to talk to truckers back in the mid-eighties, as my uncle worked at a gravel pit and I would play with his radios he brought home.

These days, I would be more interested in bear/weather reports.

I've got a Cobra LTD, and usually a couple or 5ft firesticks against the cab...Great for trailriding and hwy travel. Also have a PA that's nice to be able to yell @ idiots on the road, or just mess with people in general... Drive through a Walmart parking lot with the Weather Channel blasting out the PA, and watch peoples faces... Pretty funny...
