The irony of this is the fact that he is a bleeding heart liberal. Being one of those contemptible creatures, he can be directly credited with purveying the bovine fecal matter PC ideology that in turn splattered all over him.

1.) Freedom of speech doesn't mean you can say anything, and there are no consequences. Everyone with a real job, has a code of conduct to follow. No where in my company's code of conduct does it say willful contempt for a race or gender will be accepted, as long as Al Sharpton doesn't call. With that said, nd since this isn't 1962, anyone brash enough to say something like that, was undoubtedly ready to retire.

2.) Unedited rap, contrary to popular belief, is not broadcast over the "Airwaves". If you hear "B" and "Ho" on the AIR, then you are either subscribed to XM, and paying to hear unedited language, watching MTV's Real World, or- you have a few rap CD's in your truck you don't want anyone to know about- which mean's you knew what you were buying, and you paid to hear the lyrics.

Not excusing rappers- clearly there is room for improvement there, but rappers language, and derrogatory words towards women have been challenged and chastised everywhere (mostly, unsuccessfully). That's why the CD's come with warning labels now. You can CHOOSE to hear it, or not hear it.

No one chose to hear Imus' comment.

With only 300,000 listeners nationally, Don Imus wouldn't be the largest broadcaster in Dallas, so if only his "target audience" had heard it, maybe he'd still have a job today. But, because he said it publicly, and it was broadcast on TV (Nationwide) the wrong person heard it, and next thing you know, it was condemned by ALL news outlets, local and national.

Sure, some black people use the "N" word, and other choice language towards each other (they know, not to all black people). Some don't... I'm not saying it's right, but yes- it happens. But, at the end of the day- we're in the same skin, and under the same kind of hair. When you're black and you disrespect me, look in the mirror- you're black too. Skin is like mine, hair is like mine...

People can make fun of themselves and get away with it (Howard Stern). People bring up double standards, but- why would someone outside a race, want to go around using slurs about another race? You know, just in case all words were now acceptable.

When you start commenting on the appearances of another race, publicly- for all to hear...

You'd better have that resume' freshened up.

Yes, you're FREE to say it. But, the cost may not be free.

That simply isn't true. I've heard "bitch" and "bitches" on prime time network programming for years now.

Indeed you have... But, that word doesn't only apply to blacks.

I've heard just as many white women (and men) say it. The "B" word, is universal.

First I agree with others here who mention there is NO free speech in the work place. Free speech was NEVER meant to mean you can say what you want when ever you want. It cracks me up how many people throw around free speech and have no idea what that amendment actually means AND I don’t care what the Supreme Court may say burning the flag is NOT a forum of free speech but is a forum for getting your @ss kicked if I see it…

This whole thing is absolutely funny, why are so many people pissed off about what Imus said? It’s his show, he has been doing it for 30 years or so and didn’t just change in a day. I personally could never stand that guy but it was my CHOICE to listen to him or not listen to him.

Everybody has a CHOICE and those, like me, who don’t like the guy can turn the station. EVERYBODY that listened to him that day on radio did so because they FREELY choose to do so. If anybody who listened to him that day found what he said “offensive” and “unbelievable” they were either first time listeners or people that where very stupid because he has made those kind of comments for years…

The Rev. Jackson and Al Sharpton both need to shut the F up and move their racist @sses on down the road because I have never seen more racist people then them two home boys skipping down the road together. They have NO room to talk because they ARE racist…

There are two standards in this county, one for whites, and one for every one else. Personally I am getting tired about hearing it’s the white man’s fault for all these problems and about slave ships etc.

Guess what, I don’t give a CRAP about what happened to what ever race hundreds of years ago and I will NOT pay anybody nor apologize to anybody because of what happened. It happened, it’s in the past and there is NOTHING that can be done about it. I wasn’t there, I did not contribute to it so it’s not my freaking problem. All the different races whining were not there either, it did not happen to them, so they should move on and stop acting like little bitch’s…

If different races want to keep whining about it and how they are put down or made second class then great that’s their right to whine but don’t expect me to give a crap. If you want to move yourself up to a higher level stop the whining about all the problems in the past, grow up, wipe your tears and walk with us other grown ups, of all colors I might add…

And to the comment about everybody has racist thoughts – BULLCHIT, that’s a cop out my friend as I have never had “racist” thoughts but I am prejudice in which I can not stand anybody that sits around whining about their fate and blaming others, nor can I stand people sitting around expecting things for free (welfare) and it’s not just black or white people screwing the system its ALL races and I am prejudice not towards one particular race but rather particular types of people regardless of their race…

And I have heard many whites use the word nappy in describing another white woman's hair. Also the word ho is universal, but the black community is getting all up in arms that a white man would use that word to describe these women.

I have a new found respect for columnist Jason Whitlock of the Kansas City Star. I saw him on the Today show this morning and he stated that we (inferring the black race) need to get out of the "victimhood" and that one man's words do not define any other person's destiny.

They are words and sure you may not like them, but at the end of the day if someone calls you a name are you a different person?

On a second note what is REALLY FUNNY is how liberals, even Rev. Jackson and Al Sharpton have continually made statements to the affect of:

”We need to have tolerance for one another, others beliefs, we need to be able to forgive others, blah, blah, blah…”

The liberals ate one of their own yesterday because Imus was a liberal as well, and they just pounced on the ol’ boy and ate him for lunch…

Once again proving liberals just talk crap and never mean a word they say, tolerance and forgiveness for what THEY choose not for everybody anytime…

ROFLMMFAO, this whole Imus thing is just way too funny....
Nappy headed ho...

The whole problem here is that it was directed at the Rutger's Women's Basketball team. That is why this is making the news. It was wrong, period.

And he has paid the ultimate price as CBS fired him. The airwaves has lost a mental giant.

A broken man, as he was being led away this morning pleaded, "And ice cream! And ice cream!".

Obviously in reference to Marie Antonettes plea as she was being led away...

"And ice cream! And ice cream! I said, Let them eat cake...and ice cream!"

Another thing to note is that neither Rev. Jackson or Al Sharpton have any intention of every bringing equality to black Americans because that is against their main objective which is to separate and divide…

Rev. Jackson and Al Sharpton make a living at separation and division of races and they pray to God every morning that white Americans and black Americans will never come together and live peacefully with equal equality…

Just think of all the good he has done and now his charities will suffer.

Hey if MSNBC wants to get rid of its one money maker and CBS wants to get rid of one of its most popular shows, so be it.

However, the man has done tons of goods for kids (of all races) with his ranch for kids. He has raised millions for medical research and giving kids a place to go and have fun and recuperate.

I cant stand his politics, nor did I care for his show, but the man is more than his one comment and those who called for his firing have done more harm then good. Congrats to all the "offended" and bleeding hearts of the world.

A local radio host here, who is black and condemned Imus's statement suggested, that he set up a college fund in the Rutger's team name and apologize. Get something good out of it, rather than just a notch on Sharpton's belt.

A shame really, all around. Everyone lost.

Nothing wrong with Imus but rather with America itself. America is becoming so weak that it cowards down to a very few people, like Rev. Jackson and Al Sharpton. It’s sad when the majority of Americans are afraid to stand up to two of the biggest racist around…

I may be white and the two racist black but I am not afraid to call it the way it REALLY is, wake up America…
