Political Information...

Did you know? I didn't know! How could we?

Did you know that 47 countries have reestablished their embassies in Iraq?

Did you know that the Iraqi government currently employs 1.2 million Iraqi

people?

Did you know that 3100 schools have been renovated, 364 schools are under

rehabilitation, 263 new schools are now under construction and 38 new

schools have been completed in Iraq ?

Did you know that Iraq's higher educational structure consists of 20

Universities, 46 Institutes or colleges and 4 research centers, all

currently operating?

Did you know that 25 Iraq students departed for the United States in

January 2005 for the re-established Fulbright program?

Did you know that the Iraqi Navy is operational? They have 5 - 100-foot

patrol craft, 34 smaller vessels and a naval infantry regiment.

Did you know that Iraq's Air Force consists of three operational

squadrons, which includes 9 reconnaissance and 3 US C-130 transport aircraft

(under Iraqi operational control) which operate day and night, and will soon

add 16 UH-1 helicopters and 4 Bell Jet Rangers?

Did you know that Iraq has a counter-terrorist unit and a Commando

Battalion?

Did you know that the Iraqi Police Service has over 55,000 fully trained

and equipped police officers?

Did you know that there are 5 Police Academies in Iraq that produce over

3500 new officers each 8 weeks.

Did you know there are more than 1100 building projects going on in Iraq ?

They include 364 schools, 67 public clinics, 15 hospitals, 83 railroad

stations, 22 oil facilities, 93 water facilities and 69 electrical

facilities.

Did you know that 96% of Iraqi children under the age of 5 have received

the first 2 series of polio vaccinations?

Did you know that 4.3 million Iraqi children were enrolled in primary

school by mid October?

Did you know that there are 1,192,000 cell phone subscribers in Iraq and

phone use has gone up 158%?

Did you know that Iraq has an independent media that consists of 75 radio

stations, 180 newspapers and 10 television stations?

Did you know that the Baghdad Stock Exchange opened in June of 2004?

Did you know that 2 candidates in the Iraqi presidential election had a

televised debate recently?

OF COURSE WE DIDN'T KNOW! WHY DIDN'T WE KNOW?

OUR MEDIA WOULDN'T TELL US!

Instead of reflecting our love for our country, we get photos of flag

burning incidents at Abu Ghraib and people throwing snowballs at the

presidential motorcades. Tragically, the lack of accentuating the positive

in Iraq serves two purposes:

It is intended to undermine the world's perception of the United States

thus minimizing consequent support, and it is intended to discourage US

citizens.

---- Above facts are verifiable on the Department of Defense web site.

.......Pass it on! Give it a Wide Dissemination!

Freedom Isn't Free, and Silence is Consent!

"The human race divides politically into those who want people to be

controlled and those who have no such desire"

________

The people who are SO against the war in Iraq seem to be saying that the Iraqi people are less than human and we are to good to help them. They are human beings too. They deserve a new start and hope for democracy. And we need to protect the 2nd largest oil reserve in the world from terorists. We drive trucks remember.... This country gives so much aid to so many countries it is crazy. Yet they protest and hate us. The dumbocrats are just making it worse with the "we will loose at any cost" stratagy.

I just applied for a Carbon Credit Card. That way I can pollute all I want now and pay for it later. No annual fee for the first month. You guys should do this too. Now, with the Carbon Credit Card you don't have to be an elite to guilt others into doing irrational things in the name of curing the planets fever.

It doesn't seem fair to me that some want the government to mandate and spend tax dollars on programs intended to save the planet when people like me have been conscious of our effects for years and have already been living accordingly.

The only thing knee jerk reactions will do is create problems that wont be evident untill the damage has already been done. How about we start with the small, free stuff first. Like keeping people from throwing trash out of their vehicles. There is already a fine, but people continue to throw out their trash.

If you think the planet needs to be saved from us, you put your money where your mouth is. I'm already living responsibly. I will continue to modify my ways, as necessary, and don't need the government to impose.

Respected environmentalist David Suzuki came out swinging Friday, calling the plan an embarrassment that was more of a sham than a strategy. Suzuki said the government must meet the terms of the Kyoto accord on time -- regardless of expense.
Canadians ready for a carbon tax: David Suzuki
Updated Sun. Apr. 22 2007 2:51 PM ET

CTV.ca News Staff

Environment crusader David Suzuki says ordinary Canadians are far ahead of politicians when it comes to fighting climate change -- and that they're ready and willing to pay for it.

Fresh from a cross-Canada tour in which he heard from thousands of people in more than 40 cities, Suzuki told CTV's Question Period on Sunday that Canadians are ready for a carbon tax that would punish those who waste energy and reward those who conserve.

"We met over 30,000 Canadians. They recorded over 500 personal statements about what they would do if they were minister for the environment," Suzuki told Question Period co-host Craig Oliver.

"And I'm telling you, they want carbon taxes."
Man I hate this loser, easy to say "regardless of cost" when he doesnt have to pay for it. Maybe this douche should try being part of the working class and see just how easy it would be for those who have to live on a normal wage you have to earn. And since when does 500 selected statements represent over 30 million. I can tell you suzuki, I dont want carbon taxes. :

People need to get there head out of the sand and realize this affects them in big ways. Back in the old days when America was brave, this crap (GW scare) wouldn't stand and the bastages that talk this way would get there *** kicked. Ah... the good ole days before PC
