Chris, do you read posts before you reply? Or, do you read a few words- draw a conclusion, then reply? If you look right above your post, and at my post prior to that, you'll see that I did take the entire test, after seeing it was only 10 questions.

PS: To truly be open minded, it would mean you haven't drawn any conclusions. To side yourself with "us doubters" means your mind may not be as open as you'd like to believe.

What I believe to be true is that neither side knows that the hell they are talking about, and that more research needs to be done. I have said that over, and over again.

I haven't taken a "side" per-say, I'm just stirring the pot. The jury is still out. Do I believe the possibility exists that humans are "contributing"? Yes. But, that possibility has not been proven, nor has it been excluded.

I didn't listen to any of Al Gore's hype. But, I have taken a course in Ecology, and I have watched a few documentaries. I guess I know as much as any lay person on this subject.

Al hasn't swayed me to any point of view- I haven't seen his report or read anything he wrote. As I mentioned in a previous post, common sense means you look, it means you try.

The earth is billions of years old, man only has history dating back a few thousand years. A drop in the bucket.

What the test said makes sense, maybe. I hope it's right. That said, it is based upon an equally small sampling. When you consider modern science, the sample gets even smaller. What we have (5,000 years + / -) equates 0.00000015% of the age and cycles of this planet. When you adjust for our abilty to do world-wide research, atmospheric and satellite based observations, and any significant meteorlogical research, we'll need to add two or three more zeros to the right of that decimal point.

At the and of the day, the test sample (history) is too small to really worry about it either way.

I'd rather my tax-dollars be spent on global warming research, or fluffing the Social Security fund back up, rather than paying Haliburton and other 3rd party vendors to rebuild Iraq. I guarantee you, if you look at where more money is being spent, the amount going to research on global warming in miniscule in comparison.

Science is best guess; let's hope they are wrong, because if they are right, we're over due by 40,000 years for a VEI-8, E.L.E. at Yellowstone. If we are warming up now, that'll cool the entire planet.

Oh boy, Suzuki gets to be guest editor for a day at the Vancouver Sun. As if the media doesn't hype this enough.
"What I would love to do is put a green slant in every area," he added, explaining he thinks the mainstream media do not do enough to highlight how the environment is connected to all areas of the news.

sorry bighersh for missing your previous post.. getting kind of convoluting. We agree more than disagree. Just the emphisis is different. I see you have a bone to pick with haliburton and the iraq war. This is where we will totally disagree. Iraqi people are humans too. they are as valuble as we are. I see no problem helping them sort out there differences so there can be stability there. Haliburton is the only company on this planet that does what they can do. They do a valuble service that no one else can. Haliburton is moving it's hq to dubi. the dumbocrats are outraged. But can you blame haliburton? They can't win. They stay here and the dumbocrats are complaining about a monopoly. They move to dubi they are slamed for tax evation. And that isn't even true... they still have to pay taxes here. Haliburton can't win. And everyone falls for the media hype. Anyways.. it is the dumbocrats that are raping the social security by alowing the money to be taken out of the fund for other things. It is the dumbocrats that want to tax more of the social security funds that weren't taxed before. It is the dumbocrats that are making the social security bankrupt. So I don't agree with your premis on what is spent where. I am glad I don't live to close to yellowstone!! That will be one big cloud!! Get out your parkas!!

Not from what I see Larry... the first page was national geographic talking about polar ice melting on mars... this one is strictly scientists debunking the GW caused by man on earth.

I wonder why Haliburton is the only company that can do what they do... I'm serious, I wonder why...

I agree, when you put your foot in a country's ****, you have an obligation to rebuild (Germany, Japan). But, I think we shoudl at least wait until they've stopped killing us, and each other.

Not a day goes by that I don't pull up Yahoo and see on the headlines...:
  • 5 killed by Iraqi insurgents/
  • 21 killed in car bomb in Iraq.
  • 40 killed by car bomb in Iraq.
  • 63 killed by suicide bomber in Iraq.
  • Roadside bomb kills 2 US Marines.

I've heard of a hostile work environment, but that's ridiculous.

Call me crazy, but- I don't think they want our help...

And how about the headlines about more schools open.. and girls can go... or more electricity than ever before for people... and no more mass graves. Hundreds of other good news stories in Iraq. You don't hear of them because the media knows that good news doesn't sell. Especially with Bush in office. It was a long time ago.. but rebuilding Germany and Japan was no cake walk either. We are still there for crying out loud!! Lets keep it in perspective and stop letting hate of Bush cloud judgments.

You're bang on about that but you'll probably hear more about the good stories if the Democrats win the next election. Granted, it will take awhile before the stories come out so it will look like they did all the good stuff.

I don't deny there are good thing happening...

If they are happening, then someone needs to make sure that's on TV too, nd not just being said by the likes on Sean Hannidy & Rush Limbaugh.

It needs to come from someone credible...

I agree, bad news is good news for the media, but the Government doesn't control media. If they did, there'd have been no Watergate, Iran Contra, Lewinski, or WMD scandals.

That would have been kept on the hush, and those reporters who broke those stories would have been "relocated", you know, in the interest of national security.

Generally, the Sunnis and the Shias hate each other more than they hate the USA or Israel. There was a comprehensive poll in USA today last week. To summarize, all the problems in Iraq are the USA's fault, however, 2/3 of Iraqis aren't ready for us to leave. They know that as soon as we leave the fanatics will get worse, not better.

still really off topic... but that is the way it goes.. good read:
________

Political Information...

Did you know? I didn't know! How could we?

Did you know that 47 countries have reestablished their embassies in Iraq?

Did you know that the Iraqi government currently employs 1.2 million Iraqi

people?

Did you know that 3100 schools have been renovated, 364 schools are under

rehabilitation, 263 new schools are now under construction and 38 new

schools have been completed in Iraq ?

Did you know that Iraq's higher educational structure consists of 20

Universities, 46 Institutes or colleges and 4 research centers, all

currently operating?

Did you know that 25 Iraq students departed for the United States in

January 2005 for the re-established Fulbright program?

Did you know that the Iraqi Navy is operational? They have 5 - 100-foot

patrol craft, 34 smaller vessels and a naval infantry regiment.

Did you know that Iraq's Air Force consists of three operational

squadrons, which includes 9 reconnaissance and 3 US C-130 transport aircraft

(under Iraqi operational control) which operate day and night, and will soon

add 16 UH-1 helicopters and 4 Bell Jet Rangers?

Did you know that Iraq has a counter-terrorist unit and a Commando

Battalion?

Did you know that the Iraqi Police Service has over 55,000 fully trained

and equipped police officers?

Did you know that there are 5 Police Academies in Iraq that produce over

3500 new officers each 8 weeks.

Did you know there are more than 1100 building projects going on in Iraq ?

They include 364 schools, 67 public clinics, 15 hospitals, 83 railroad

stations, 22 oil facilities, 93 water facilities and 69 electrical

facilities.

Did you know that 96% of Iraqi children under the age of 5 have received

the first 2 series of polio vaccinations?

Did you know that 4.3 million Iraqi children were enrolled in primary

school by mid October?

Did you know that there are 1,192,000 cell phone subscribers in Iraq and

phone use has gone up 158%?

Did you know that Iraq has an independent media that consists of 75 radio

stations, 180 newspapers and 10 television stations?

Did you know that the Baghdad Stock Exchange opened in June of 2004?

Did you know that 2 candidates in the Iraqi presidential election had a

televised debate recently?

OF COURSE WE DIDN'T KNOW! WHY DIDN'T WE KNOW?

OUR MEDIA WOULDN'T TELL US!

Instead of reflecting our love for our country, we get photos of flag

burning incidents at Abu Ghraib and people throwing snowballs at the

presidential motorcades. Tragically, the lack of accentuating the positive

in Iraq serves two purposes:

It is intended to undermine the world's perception of the United States

thus minimizing consequent support, and it is intended to discourage US

citizens.

---- Above facts are verifiable on the Department of Defense web site.

.......Pass it on! Give it a Wide Dissemination!

Freedom Isn't Free, and Silence is Consent!

"The human race divides politically into those who want people to be

controlled and those who have no such desire"

________

The people who are SO against the war in Iraq seem to be saying that the Iraqi people are less than human and we are to good to help them. They are human beings too. They deserve a new start and hope for democracy. And we need to protect the 2nd largest oil reserve in the world from terorists. We drive trucks remember.... This country gives so much aid to so many countries it is crazy. Yet they protest and hate us. The dumbocrats are just making it worse with the "we will loose at any cost" stratagy.
