Salam,

This is my 1st post, since there was no reason. I would like to contribute with you guys and I will try to do my beast to answer your questions and clear any thought you may need to understand about Islam. I know it is late post but I am new here.

I can see that none of you is Muslim. So to know the principles of Islam you should ask a Muslim or read a book (not any book).

Please feel free to ask me what you need to know.

Islam is a word derived from Salam which means peace. So Islam is not a terrorist religion. And it means Hi or Hello in English.

True, most people just make assumptions not based on any learned fact, but based on heresay or rumor. What we can say is there are extremist muslim groups who are terrorists. I am a Christian, and I haven't read the koran, so me saying the religion of islam is terroristic I can't do. If I was to read the book and come to my own conclusion, then I may or may not call it that. The truth of the matter is that this country, as well as many many others have been terrorized by islamic extremists groups.

You are absolutely right. But please don’t forget the fact of haw many terrorists out there beside extremist Muslims. Also terrorism could be formed in many ways. And killing innocent people is one of them, where either by neither extremist Muslims nor others.

Please excuse my weak English, I am trying my best.

That is true as well. There are other forms of terrorism, but the original post was questioning islam being terroristic. I personally hate terrorism in all forms.

I've only read up to this post and really like what you said Will.
Good posts by Bert, fatman, and a few others as well.

To answer your question Odin, I would say no.
Personally, and this is only MHO...
I have a severe distrust for people who completely and totally throw themselves into their religion and start bleeping off about mumbo jumbo bs.

Look at what ******** said about Sharone? That his stroke was due to his actions and God was punishing him.

People like this sicken me, it's like saying "Ramone got AIDS because he's a ***", or Jimmy got killed in a car wreck because he cheated on his wife"

Perhaps there are 'some' people who bury themselves into their religion so deep, who are not "bi-polar", and who do not have that "glassy eye" look to them, but I've not met many.

I enrolled in World Religions at Queen's University last year, not because I'm a 'religious type", but because I find the subject extremely interesting, and rather than being an ignoramus, I wanted to have a general idea about what each religion stands for.

As far as my own religious thoughts, well scientifically I have a hard time believing in a "God" per se', but deep down, I think their might be an ""Outside Observer" who is looking in on us and saying "look at all those aholes, damn they are stupid"

I figure be the best person you can be, don't screw people over, help your brother when he needs help, and try to do the right thing.
If the Outside Observer exists and you lived a good and decent life, then maybe things will be ok. If he doesn’t exist, then it doesn’t matter, at least you lived a good life, and hopefully made a good example for the younger people coming up behind you.

As far as these fanatics who spread fear and try to get you to ***** your pants, they can all lick my nuts.

I was watching CNN about a year ago; they were doing a special on "Evangelicals". It was one of the most frightening things I've ever seen.

They showed an upper middle class family, living in their upper middle class house, and I could feel my skin crawl when they were answering the interviewers’ questions.

First the mother bleated on about how you gotta be a good Christian, and if you don't then you will die in hell, then the 5 year old daughter said the same thing, but the part that pissed me off.... is when they said "yup, u huh, if you don't believe in God, you will fry in hell for all eternity" "We believe, and we will be saved, but for all the rest of you, you’re gonna suffer real bad!"

These people had delight in their voices, the woman said the 2nd coming couldn’t come soon enough; she wanted it to come tonight so that all the non-believers could fry in hell for their punishment.

I could actually hear glee and delight in her voice when she spoke.
This is a good Christian? This is the type of mindless zombie who "God" wants kissing his ***? Someone who takes pleasure in other peoples misery?

Hello?

The world is full of brain washed idiots who don’t have the ability to think for themselves, and they raise their stupid children to not be able to think for themselves, and on and on we go.

Almost all the world religions are beautiful, and teach good things, it's some of the followers who take it to the extreme that should be wearing a T-shirt that says "God I wish I had a brain!"

I'm not here to poo on your belief, believe in pink unicorns for all I care, teach your kids about the pink unicorn, but don't teach them whoever doesn’t believe in the almighty pink unicorn is a enemy and should be killed.

I can hear the twilight zone music in the background, and the coo coo clock bird coming out.

Personally, I believe most people who live their life with their religious beliefs are good decent people, but every group has their loud mouthpieces, the idiots who yell the loudest, who don't necessarily talk for everyone.

If you don't like what I've written, attack the argument, not the arguer.
It's not personal, so you extreme types try to chill out. (You know who you are)

Our born again christian president lied to the us about the reasons for invading a foreign country.

So far somewhere around 35,000 lives have been thrown away. Somewhere around $200 Billion dollars wasted.

Islam is a terrorist religion?

I agree with most of what you said here Habibi; and, welcome back BTW. Haven't seen you post much lately. There is one thing though. As long as it's Muslims strapping bombs to themselves and killing innocent people, not Christians, Hindus, Buddists, or what have you, then there is going to be a perceived threat from those that practice the religion. It's easy for some people to dismiss this fact; and, pull out a Timothy Mcveigh, who so far is an anomoly, or point at the IRA, who kept their efforts focused locally and were not a global threat. The fact is, Muslims, not all Muslims by any means, but Muslims are Terrorists with global scope and intentions. They ARE the only ones that present this kind of threat. The fact that these people are NOT being hunted down and exterminated, in countries that will cut your hand off for stealing and stone a woman to death for being sexually promiscuous, speaks volumes to me of the general Muslim acceptance of their behavior. What a person, or group of people, does speaks more truthfully about their nature than what they say.

If they want to live in the US, they have to follow our rules. They aren't exempt because they're muslim.

PS. I do not practice a religion and do not like to be confronted be Christians, who think they have all the answers to life and the afterlife, either; but, they have the same freedom of speech that we all enjoy here in the US; and, they are hardly anymore irritating than the radical Liberal, tree hugging, the Earth is dying crowd that is so prominent in academia and the media.

This may or may not be true. Not saying you are, but anyone basing an opinion on media induced or leftist fabrication causes as many problems as does the President when he has to trust others' gathered information. We all make mistakes, his was trusting bad information. We needed to go over there and remove that scumbag hussein since he violated common humanitarian rights. The UN wasn't going to, they're wussies. The fact that hussein had or didn't have nukes is a moot point. He had them in the past. The problem with muslim nations are they have poorly enforced laws. Letting people blow up innocent civillians is an act of an infidel. They're just too ignorant to understand that.

Is Islam a terrorist religion? Yes. If you don't believe it, read the Koran. Just the cold hard truth.
