Well y'all -

Kobi made it to the Right Coast with out incident, and although I have not seen the news or listened to the radio today . . . I have to assume that the massive destruction that was rumored to happen today . . . didn't, and I certainly did NOT see any mushroom clouds from the air . . . I did however pass over a few nuclear power plants on my descent into Newark . . . oh, excuse me, it's now Liberty International Airport.

You kids out here have a lot of nuke plants . . . . it's kinda weird . . .

Although I didn't die in some nuclear holocaust, I did however probably catch a cold (which I'm sure the dept. of homeland security would classify as some kind of bio-attack . . . just to keep the paranoia level up . . .

On my flight was the entire population of North Korea on some kind of tour . . . not sure what that was about . . . but I could hear endless coughing, and sneezing behind me, and knowing that the 757 has the WORST air recirculating system of any aircraft known to man . . . I'm sure I'm going to die of some strange viral infection . . .

Anyway . . . it time to start doing what I came here to do (starting Sunday) . . . keep those questions coming in (although I may not be able to get to them until Tuesday.

Have a good weekend . . .

Your man in the Garden State:

if you're interested in what it all does yu can check it out online at:

http://www.fujifilm.co.uk/technical/...F10_Manual.pdf

(waring: 6mb download if you're dialup user)

What did you go out there to do exactly? Defuse those nuclear bombs they find at New... er... Liberty Intl Airport? Locate the rare Boston Fruit Fly? Paint a mural? What?!!!

Dear Kobi.

Why does Minnesota have the most stupid state law ever. Beer/Wine & Spirits can not be sold where food is sold.

Example : In the 2 other states I have lived, (Iowa and Texas) You are able to buy Alcohol in gas stations, grocery stores, wall-marts....anywhere pretty much. Wisconsin is the same I noticed too.

And now that I live in Minnesota, I have noticed the only place I can buy alcohol is in a "Wine and Spirts" store, which are closed on sundays, which leads me to the second part of my question...

Why cant you buy alcohol on sundays? In the other 2 stated I have lived (mentioned above) you could buy alcohol up to 2am sunday morning, then again after 10am. Does this mean "Last call" in minnesota is at 11:59 pm saturday night, and "First call" at 12:01am monday morning?

Please give me an understanding to this state law. Cause I personally think it is stupid.

Alrighty Mr. Kobiashi

First off-once I lift my truck, what tires should I get. Size is going to be 285/75/16 (33x11.5) and Im just not sure what to get. I like the Pro Comp Mud Terrains and BFG Mud Terrains, but i dont have that much to spend on each tire. I dont want some cheap General brand either. I need something that will work good on pavement (its my daily driver) but that works good in snow, mud, and some sand. It needs to have a nice off road look to it. Im not a big All Terrain tire person, but if its not ***** lookin I would consider it.

Dear Dzervit-

Yes to all. Actually I went there to paint a mural of a squardron of Boston Fruit Flies dropping defused A-Bombs on EWR.

Or something like that.

Dear Brently-

First off, let's address your first question:
"Why does Minnesota have the most stupid state law ever?"

It's not a good sign when your first question scores a "100" on the hyperbole meter. Honestly, the stupidest state law EVER? Offhand, and this goes for almost all states, I could name at least half a dozen state (not to mention Federal) income tax laws that the mudder******* state and federal tax ***** have on the books . . . Taxes . . . Oh don't get me started . . . you know, if that bozo who bombed the Oklahoma Federal Building (can't remember his name at the moment), but if he had blown up the IRS building in D.C., he'd be a hero rather than a terrorist, at least in my book . . . but I digress.

As for why no booze on Sunday, I don't know, however, a quick look at the Minnesota Statutes 2004 seems to state otherwise.

I didn't see anything prohibiting the sale of alcohol at places with food, and even found a clause that permits it on sundays:

In 340A.504 "Hours and days of sale"
in Subd. 2. it states:

Subd. 2. Intoxicating liquor; on-sale. No sale of
intoxicating liquor for consumption on the licensed premises may
be made:

(1) between 2:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. on the days of Monday
through Saturday;

(2) after 2:00 a.m. on Sundays, except as provided by
subdivision 3.

so, right there in (2) you see there are exceptions to the Sunday thing . . .
such as:

Subd. 3. Intoxicating liquor; Sunday sales; on-sale.
(a) A restaurant, club, bowling center, or hotel with a seating
capacity for at least 30 persons and which holds an on-sale
intoxicating liquor license may sell intoxicating liquor for
consumption on the premises in conjunction with the sale of food
between the hours of 12:00 noon on Sundays and 2:00 a.m. on
Mondays.

And you see that it also mentions the sale of food, so that means that some places can sell on Sunday, and with food no less.

So drink up buddy !!!!!!

By the way, if they really do not permit the sale of booze where they sell food (although I don't believe that's the case), wouldn't the state be endangering your life with such a law? Are you not supposed to be drinking on an empty stomach? Therefore, if the state is jeopardizing your health because of a law, could you not sue them? I think you might have a good case here. Sue the bastards for at least 8 figures, then move to a state where you can drink 24/7, if that's what does it for you.

Cheers

Kobi-

Dear Bartak1-

Be careful lifting your truck, you could hurt yourself, and most likely give yourself a hernia. And please, stop here for a moment and think this through . . . shouldn't you have decided on which tire you want, in fact, shouldn't you have already have bought them and had them mounted BEFORE you lift your truck? What are you planning on, you lift it and then have your friends(s) go out and buy tires, and then do all mounting and balancing, and then installing them . . . all while you're stuck there holding the truck up? Also, I suggest you use a jack, but hey, that's just me.

As for what tires to get . . . well, look, my idea of "off-road" is when I pull into a parking lot and have the valet park it, or when I pull into my garage. That's about as off-road as I get.

That said . . .you seem set on this size (285/75/16). Are you sure that's right? Is that plus sized? Otherwise, you're gonna need to re-calibrate your speedometer. Just for chits and giggles I plugged the info of your truck year and model and suggested tire size and it came back with a number of choices . . . not all of them all terrain . . . at least, not seriously all terrain.

Tires.com also offers a wide array in that size, and damn, them puppies can get expensive! .

If you're going for that awesome look the Goodyear Wrangler MTR and the BFGoodrich Mud Terrain T/A KM sure look awesome, but I've seen tires like these on raised (and I mean RAISED) jeeps and trucks (honestly, when you need a ladder to get in your truck . . . you need to re-evaluate things . . . but hey, that's just me), and they are NOISY . . . so noisy in fact that it goes beyond irritating . . . it makes me want to shoot the driver of the vehicle . . . it also makes me think they are gay and trying to hide it . . . so you might want to think twice before you purchase tires with tread so large that it looks like the Grand Canyon, because, that just ain't right.

A quick review of a couple of forums on different sites repeatedly have folks who have had the BF Goodrich MT KMs and seem to like them, so you might want to consider those. On Tirerack, the Yokohama Geolander M/T+ looks interesting and has gotten positive feedback from owners so I'd consider those too.

Another tire to consider is the Kumho Venture MT, also well received on the Tirerack reviews, plus the Kumhos are 120 bucks, about 60 to 80 less than most of the others.

Personally (and this is a shot in the dark), I say give serious consideration to the Kumhos. Sure, a lot of folks will say they are cheap Korean Tires, but I gottta tell ya, I put Kumho Tires on my Lexus and so far they have been great.

However, if you buy them and they turn out to be crap, don't blame me (because honestly, how can you really use a brand's luxury tire as a comparison point for an all terrain tire?) . . . like I tried to establish earlier, my idea of roughing it is if room service is late at the GeorgesV.

Whatever you consider, good luck.

Hope this helps

Dear cyclone vampire-

OK - spelling problems aside (because I'm too tired to even care at this point), I'm having a hard time following your post and I'm not even sure what your question is.

I'm going to assume here that you mean the following:

You're 36 . . .

You're dating a 25 year old (Kelly) . . .

Kelly has a mom who is 44 . . .

The Mom likes flirting with you, has pressed her chest up against you, and tried to feel you up while you were taking a **** (that could get messy) . . .

You believe that Kelly (the 25 yr. old) is beginning to lose interest in you . . .

Am I correct so far? If I am, then my next question is . . .

What are you asking me? Are you asking me if you should be sexually involved with both of them? (Either as a threesome, or separately, each without knowledge of the other, or maybe they both know you are doing both of them, or what?)

Actually . . . forget those questions . . . regardless . . . . let's say you could be doing both mom and daughter (not as a threesome, but rather seeing both separately, but seeing both nonetheless).

Let me ask you a question. What kind of mother makes advances on the guy her daughter is seeing? Is that the kind of person you want to get involved with? And what does it say about you that you would do something like this?

No, no, no . . . this is not right, but I can help, I have a solution.

I say, choose one, and send me the other (I'm not picky. I don't care which one you choose and which one you send me, just as long as they are both HOT BABES . . . then I'll take either). It's the polite, moral, and RIGHT thing to do. You'll thank me for this later.

Remember, I'm here to help.

kobi,

i saw the picture before reading what you wrote and right away, wanted to be there now (7 a.m.). i was going to say 'is it bad that i want a beer at this hour', but remembered this is the question thread, and i do not want that answered, so i am not asking.

'ok' is better than 'it sucked' so i am happy it was at least acceptable.

i remember walking into that place for the first time down that long hallway thinking to myself 'what the heck am i walking into', but it all worked out for the best. we have not been to princeton in several months, and i am starting to feel the need to go again. will check with the misses, and see if we can get oursleves there in early september.

glad you enjoyed it.

Dear billycouldride -

OK then, I'm not answering.
