99 Expo Mild Build
Now thats its a bit warmer and I have had some free time, I got to work on the truck some more. Did front brake rotors, pads and bearings, what a dirty job (first change since I got the truck). Also, started the install of the 7" headrest monitors, as well as ran 60+ feet of O AWG power and ground wire along with 3 20' bad A$$ RCAs from Wirez. Still havent decided to what to do with the subs yeah, down to 3 options. May come down to what I can do the fastest. Who knows. Will post pics of monitors when all done.

Thanks Crash.
So sub enclosures have been decided......going to be pretty cool. 4- 10" subwoofers and 2 amps (1500w Sub amp and 700w 4ch) a 2 separate enclosures with a built in amp rack and amp cover in each all to try an minimize the space taken up by all of this. Yes I know I have an expedition so space shouldnt be an issue but I use the back of my expo nearly everyday to move various things around so I dont want to have to move the subbs in and out.
More to come, starting this weekend on the first stage.

So got to spent about an hour ish working on the system the other day. Heres how far I got.

I also cut the panels for the sub enclosures themselves, but didnt have time to put it together. As you can see in the first pic thats the location of 2 of the 4 subs. the outer oval is whats going to be cut out of the front panel and the subs will be reccessed 3/4".
This set up on takes up 2.5" on either side of the back of the truck, for reference this is covers half of the lower seat belt attachment point.

I loaded the expo with all the stuff for the install and components. (in the back not installed yet) Looks like the expo will perfectly level when the installs all done. Thats a fun outcome I didnt really think of.
Willpost pics soon, starting on the glassing and other small details this afternoon.
Had a minor setback, discovered 3 of the 4 shocks are pretty much dead. Did a little digging and the shocks I got in the kit were very much the wrong ones (explains the odd ride). So on the phone now, trying to get the correct ones.

Yeah, I was thinking about cutting the bump stops too.
As for the ride, I am pretty sure its due to the incorrect shocks, I called the shock manufacturer and they said that was the problem it would ride terrible. Basically the shocks I got are for a standard height truck not lowered. I am still waiting on new shocks

yea the shock is probly bottoming out when fully compressed? Take the bumpstops out it is one bolt, I pull a 16ft trailer with a polaris ranger500 crew and the frame never hits the axle with a 4in drop coil on the rear.
ok little update, this is taking forever. I have been making a bunch of brakets to secure the enclosure and wall to the sides of the truck. theres 5 on each side so now I know why I havent seen this done before. Tomorrow is time for the trim panels, which also take forever. The carpet, grill cloth and Vinyl have all been ordered and should be here next week.
So i FINALLY got the replacement shocks in for the truck. Dostech Nitro slammers. Only took about 1.5 hours to install all 4. All 4 shocks that came out were done, one in the rear couldnt even stay extended. The rears were completely bottoming out on big bumps and show by the wear on the shock itself. Bad bad bad. So how are the Dostech Nitro Slammers? BAD A$$!!! Such a great ride! I would HIGHLY these shocks for anyone with a lowered truck.
Took some time and 3 sets of shocks (all replaced for free by the company i bought the lowering kit from) but now its perefct.
Now I really need to get this damn system done.

Ok, havent been able to get to the system build in a while now, broken/borrowed tools are holding me back. BUT i did get my 6000k HID kit for my fogs in (to match the 6000k headlights, and man my truck is bright) and one of the headrest monitors in. The other was DOA in the package so gotta exchange it. Gotta say the expo seats are SUPER easy to install the monitors in. I have done some that took hours, one seat in the expo took 35 minutes!
oh and took some fun pics
