Your basically asking if hi-flow cats would make it sound better, they will. Much louder.

Do you know if it will keep the deep tone or not.

I have Maggie 94106 cats and they make it much louder and deeper. You will not be dissapointed in them. I got mine from Perfomance Peddler on ebay for 40 bucks shipped a piece.

Do you have just one hi-flow cat and which one(s) is it. I don't know if I need one or two.

If I go with the 14" Magnapack, which diameter should I get? The 4"? The smaller the louder right?

These trucks have more than 1 cat. All modern vehicles have two per manifold bank. '97 - '05 F150s have 4 cats ( 2 per side ) 05.5 - present made have only two.

Correct, the 4" body is the right choice.

Darren.......
I'll be replacing my exhaust with a MAGNAFLOW......but now I'm thinking I might do the cats also.
My 2004 5.4 has 4 cats, right? So I would need to replace them with 4 cats, or just 2?
And if I want the 18" MAGNAFLOW (don't want it loud) which hi-flow MAGNAFLOW cats do I need?

Anybody please "chime-in" here, I was axing Darren because he seems to have all the right answers as well as others.
THX!

Yes, 2004s have 4 cats. It depending on your emissions/inspection requirements. Legally i'm supposed to have 4 cats ( inspection, no emissions ). 2 cats is cheaper and better sounding, and less restrictive. I would go for only two if you can. Check with your exhaust shops to verify.

Theres a guy running 94106 cats with an 18" Magnaflow, not bad sounding.

What is everyone's favorite exhuast tip? Don't just say brand, specify model.

I like rolled edged tips, specifically from Magnaflow because they last. Borla's double tip'd tips are very nice too.
