Thanks Darren. That means a lot I can only learn from the best Last summer, hmmmm Oh that's right, working my behind off and wondering why don't I have my truck yet?!?!

Btw THEVILLE89 you should be fine with the Maggie SS tips. I have a very high quality off brand that my shop carries. If you can get such an off brand, go for it. ALl you are paying for is the name to be stamped on the edge, hoever, those tips are very high quality which is why I think Magnaflow makes such a killing on them. If you maintain them, basically I would clean them every so often if you are not **** about cleaning your truck like I am. If you wash your truck like once a week, great, clean those tips too, but if not, just keep them waxed and polished to keep their shine and finish and you should be good to go.

hey guys, quick question for yall. i have an 04 screw 5.4. i want it to be louder but not by a lot. i go hunting often and having a loud truck is simply not an option. if i take off the 2 rear cats will this help? also if i do this will it hurt my trucks performance in any way?

thanks

I would not do that. Deleting the rear cats would make it louder, by how much, I'm not sure because it is still with the stock muffler. I can't see it hurting performance becuase you are hepling flow. Here is my suggestion. Get a 22" si/so magnaflow. You could do a hack and weld and have it put in or if it were me, I would get a new system made a full 3" si/so with the 22" magnaflow.

Here is a soundclip, he took some nice vids

Okay guys, I'm still between my exhausts. I've already taken advice in this thread before and just still cant seem to make up my mind. If it were you guys, which would you do. A 14" Maggi 3" single in/ 2.5" dual out (like yours truckguy) or a single in single out 3" in and out 14" Magnapack ( the 4" round ). Any thoughts or opinions on either or both of the exhausts is greatly appreciated.

I am very happy with mine so I would say the 14" si/do. The magnapacks I believe are a bit louder and the 3" si/so is great for performance so that would be a good choice as well. I've never heard a magnapack in person, so I am not quite sure how it sounds compared to mine overall. I think you would be happy with the 14" si/do when broken in.

[QUOTE=TruckGuy24;3812619]I've never heard a magnapack in person[QUOTE]

Yeah, I have never even seen a video of it but am thinking that it'd be right down the alley of what I'm looking for. The performance gain is a big plus. Especially if it helps MPGs a little bit (that is of course after i get done hearing it roar

Anyone have a link to a video of the magnapack on a 5.4 or does anyone here have one on their truck?

Two members Scott G and Josh Mac have true dual Magnapacks on their trucks.

Scott's

Josh's

I would think a 3" si/so Magnapack would be just around the same loudness, Darren would know for sure

magnapacks sound awesome in person. no videos do any justice for exhaust sounds. they deep as hell and pretty loud when you get on it. id go for that over the 14" oval that truckguy has

Hey guys I sold my Flowmaster 44 and should be getting my bullet in tomorrow. I'll probabaly get it all welded on myself by Saturday. I'm going to dump it after the axle with a 3.5 X 18 inch tip. I'll post pictures when i'm done along with maybe a video clip. Any suggestions as to before I do it are appreciated. Keep in mind I already have high flow cats. Thanks

also which is better di/do or the si/do or does it matter. the di/do is 22" long

those are completely different mufflers. seems like ur kinda confused. sido oval 14" is what truckguy has. good sounding muffler. 24" will be very quite. tad louder than stock. 14" round is the "magnapack", louder than the 14" oval.

To add, the si/do is one inlet and then 2 outlets from the muffler. The di/do has two inlets going into the muffler and then the two outlets. I would just go with the si/do. The di/do's from everything I have read are kind of a gimick. It'd like Turtle wax Ice's Liquid claybar. It is trying to be something that it is not. Is it a bit louder? I believe so. (14"vs14") However the di/do is not set-up the best way. It's goal is to be a true dual system in a muffler, just the like the Turtle wax claybar is trying to have paint cleaning power all in a liquid. That is not going to happen. A true dual set-up needs to be balanced for optimum results. The way to do that is two run two separate pipes from the front of the truck that instead of going into the Y pipe, then connect into an x pipe, which then continues to more piping that eventually meets into two si/so mufflers. After those mufflers the tailpipes exit as the truck owner desires. Here is a picture for a visual. I googled this, and it is Darren's picture for reference

im not confused i was just wondering whats the difference. i know what truckguy has i just didnt know whats the difference between an oval or round muffler other then length. i know the longer the quieter it is. and was wondering if a di/do is better, the same or worse then a si/do. i see the di/do is 22" and the oval CAN be 14" i was just asking the difference if any other then lenght and the obvious fact 2 in 2 out vs. 1 in 2 out.
