Ordered SCT X3 tuner from VMP!
This is great guys. I've been thinking about getting an Xcal. It looks like about 3 weeks mol.
I can't wait to hear what changes you guys are having after custom tunes installed.
I see some of you have opted for all 89 octane tunes. I rarely use anything but 89 but it would be nice to get a kick *** jolt ocasionally.
4WDf150 - Was there a big difference in the 89 and the 93 tune? Does it change the shift points and firmness from 89 as well?

hey man. nah havent used 93 yet. 89 is pretty nice. gettin low so ill prob fill up with 93 next and report back. just the changes in shifting alone is really nice! i would recommend a custom tuned tuner for ya
. I also got a "valet" tune because while I am in college people borrow my truck all the time. They are going to be mighty confused when my truck all of a sudden governs out at 80 mph and has a 5,000 rpm rev limiter
Tuner arrived yesterday! Took about 15 mins to download the stock tune on it and upload the 87 perf tune.
Before the tuner, my truck couldn't get out of its own way.
Now its kicking its own a$$ all up and down the road!
I'll need to get a gatorback because I'm getting the belt squeal, but its not too bad.
BIG THANK YOU to Justin Starkey @ VMP Tuning!

Same here, 3rd to 4th. I've heard the gatorback serpentine belt will take care of it for us. Just called AutoZone nearby... they have them for $33.99. Part no. 4061025. It didn't come up when they searched for parts for the F150, but I found the part no here: http://www.goodyearep.com/ProductsDetail.aspx?id=3128. Click on Parts Finder. Yours will be different.

Yeah, I'm sure you're fine. It did everything autmatically for me. I just plugged it in and selected the tune I wanted. Then it downloaded the current settings and uploaded the custom tune. I'm guessing it had to copy everything in case I have to return to stock.
mybe my trucks a turd. I still dont feel like there is something more to do.. i hate that if i do a quick accel from a stop light it never goes to WOT.. i have yet to roast the stock tires..
the edges tow setting i had sold seamed to be more responsive than the 87 perf. and i have already upped the shift pressure to 10 .
