Ordered SCT X3 tuner from VMP!
Yes, he will email them. Even if the HEX code is on the PCM, it's best to get a reading from the PCM. Your truck could have been reflashed at the dealer at some point and the HEX may not be the original.

Computer Code Location
The "Computer Code" or "Catch Code" identifys the program that is in your vehicle's computer. When we custom program an SCT X-Cal2 9400 or Custom Livewire tuning device for your vehicle the code is required. This code is 4 letters and numbers long.
If you can not find the code go ahead and place the order, we will contact you if we need additional information.
On 2004 and older vehicles the code can be found on a small white sticker on the passenger side door jamb or door. If this sticker is worn off you will need to look on the computer itself. On Mustangs the computer can be found behind the passenger side kick panel. On trucks the computer can be found going through the firewall. On large cars the computer can be found under the drivers side dash.
On 2005 and newer vehicles the code can be found on a small white sticker placed on the computer itself. On cars the computer is often on the passenger side front of the engine bay, on gas trucks it is on the firewall.
The code is not part of a long part number, it will be by itself, usually in large letters. An example code is ABC1.
It is possible to find the computer code by plugging a flash tuner into the OBD2 port. When you read the code out through the OBD2 port it is called the strategy, using this method the code is 7 letters and numbers long. If you are using a newer X-Cal2 the "Read Strategy" option will be under the "Vehicle Info" menu, on an older X-Cal2 it will be under the "DTC/Data" menu

it was being discussed on the 4 digit code being used instead of the hex at the time of purchase.. and the chance of multiple 4 digit codes and being able to buy a used tuner with the same 4 digit code.
Yours arrived already??
midwestoffroad, your tuner already arrived? I ordered mine almost a week before you and I haven't received a tracking number yet!?
Guess I'll send Justin an email and see what's up. I hate to be impatient, I'm just excited to get it.
It'll probably be on my doorstep when I get home since I'm b!tch'n. :o
Let me know what pans out with the lag on the low end.

I will have to give it some time yet of daily driving . I went from stock to the evo then to stock to the SCT so i do have some comparison. but i was running the TOW evo setting and comparing to a 87 performance tune. so i am sure the shift points and firmness is the biggest difference i am noticing..
Idle sound much better. wh have had some humid weather and that could be affecting it as well.
Dutchman good luck with your I am sure you will have it shortly. Justin told me 3 weeks so i was excited to see it in 2

Soon, very soon : )
Emailed Justin & got a quick reply. Said he will be sending it out in the next couple days!
midwestoffroad, let me know if you change any settings. This will be my first time with a tuner so I could use some tips. BTW, I went with 87 for all three custom tunes too.

There are no canned tunes on the Xcal3, only the new problematic SF3.
I ran all 3 tunes over the weekend i had a few demolition derby cars to haul to the fair. i did have to adjust the tire size a few times to get the speedo correct. I suggest a gps or something to verify.. I was about 10mph off. but thats only because i planned on 33's and still have the sock 32s on it
also i bumped up the shift firmness. overall if fells about the same as the canned tunes from my evo.
