I've had the same experience. I just called over there, and never even asked for him. I wound up on hold, and he picked up. Next thing I know, he's talking, and talking, and talking. I did learn more than I wanted to though. That's why I can't understand it when people say that he is hard to get in touch with. He loves to talk to people.

It's a double edged sword though. If he's on the phone talking and talking with someone than it's hard to be on the phone with someone else.

To get back to the original post, does anybody have any data that can be compared? Digital Market has posted about his but nobody has posted anything else? The BUTT dyno is not accurate and will never tell you A/F ratios, actual horsepower or torque.

Well, to be fair, Digital Market just posted his opinion. There were no dyno graphs, either.

Back in 1997 I purchased a Hypertech chip form a Ford dealer. Then I met Mike through AOL Online. I had a custom chip made for my truck because I wanted it to rev to 6500 rpm. I needed this because I play in the dunes and I have a manual tranny. You cannot shift gears while climbing a dune. The Hypertech would not even remove the speed limiter. I have had Mikes tunes in my truck ever since. The only exception to this was when I purchased the Procharger. It came with a free tune. And yes the seller was an SCT dealer with a dyno. It was a poor tune but it was safe and it allowed me to drive the truck. The tuner could not get the 90mm MAF to work so he ran my stock MAF using Failed MAF tables. I now have a Troyer tune back in the truck and you can actually feel the difference. The truck doesn't stumble off of idle. And it seems to pull a lot harder. It is not likely that you will find someone who will just go out and spend the cash to have two different tunes compared. Someone who purchased a tune and for some reason is not satisfied with it and switches Brand/Tuner will most likely have a bias towards the one that failed to satisfy him. All of this to say that if you want an unbiased opinion go out and purchase both VMP and Troyer tunes and do your own comparison.

Regards

I understand that, (notice I said "posted about his" not "posted his") but nobody else has data! Let's be fair and say nobody has actually post a dyno chart on this forum comparing tunes. NOBODY!

Let me add this also: What makes his opinion any different than yours? Who's opinion is better? I hope DigitalMarket posts his dyno sheets to back up his opinion. People need to do there own research and not takes somebody's opinion, especially from the internet, as gospel.

I honestly think you will not find any dyno graphs done scientifically to show the difference. Why do you expect to find any? Those that are having dyno tunes done are content with the tuner that they are using and will continue on with them. They will use his expertise to extract every last ounce of power available.

No disrespect intended but have you taken out a Chevy for a test drive lately? Using your logic you should go out and purchase one and compare it to your Ford......

I agree completely. One of the main reasons why you'll never hear me tell anyone that "VMP is the best" and "Everyone else sucks". I never said his opinion was wrong or different from mine. Other than him saying Troyer was hands down the better tune, we kind of have similar opinions just for a different tuner.

I have posted my dyno sheets before plenty of times but it's kind of hard to compare a truck with 37s on it.

I understand what you are saying. What I am trying to say is people post their opinions only. People need to be careful on who's opinion they listen to and do some research first. I have seen a post recently in care&detail section where beechkid gave some really poor advice: See post #4 in this thread:
https://www.f150online.com/forums/ca...g-related.html

I have no experience tuning any vehicles. I can only offer my experiences with Troyer Performance. Would I use Troyer again? Hell yes and already have. I also have to say that I have read many posts saying the same thing about Troyer, VMP, and PHP. People need to find what is the best fit for themselves and not just take peoples opinion as facts.

That's what forums are for though ... Advice, opinions, facts, all of it.

You may not be happy regardless of who you choose, I was not with my Troyer tunes (there were a few others who also were unhappy, but most seem to be). I am now very satisfied with my Edge. The pedal has a lot more response with the Edge, and the gauges have been invaluable to all the problems I've had with this truck as far as CEL's go. It alerts me when I'm overheating, when anything goes wrong. I'm sure it's paid for itself tenfold in the repairs I would have made without it.

Yeah, mine too? It was a legitimate question about his Darwin awards...and it tried to make a good point to the rest of the guys about how they should quit "swordfighting" and get back to the OP with some pertinent information...not that we weren't still learning information from the mudslinging going on anyways.

This post alone has helped me decide which tunes to use (at least initially)...both, lol. I'll get VMP's first since the turnaround time is fast, and while I'm playing with those I can wait on Troyer's.....now if only we could bring PHP into the mix...a few more weeks.....

Disagreeing is one thing, but please be honest and not "mis-represent" what I posted. If you re-read my posts you'll see I linked to my my dyno graphs from my first tuning session, and a link to VMPs on a Roush F150 as well. I'm in the process of writing articles for the most recent tuning session and that will contain updated graphs, and data-logging as well.

Here's the post:
https://www.f150online.com/forums/3381213-post59.html

The links to my dyno graphs are right there.
