That's very true. A manual is only "slipping" when the clutch is not fully engaged. And, with a good "speed shift", you can effectively eliminate that slippage, once you get it moving away from a dead stop.

Still, I, and everyone I ever rode with, shifted on engine RPM, not speed.

Are you saying it's a 10% difference between the two? If so, basically.

The transmissions in our trucks are very bad about drivetrain loss, they are power hungry and do not transfer power very well. Typically it's a ~25-30% loss in our trucks. Mustangs, manuals, see about a ~15% loss and the automatics have about a ~20% loss.

 

it still slips some at WOT but not as much; autos are hogs, up to 30% in the worst case scenario

I can't speak for your girlfriend , but let me ask you this...

Why in the world would I push you to place an order with PHP, KNOWING that you were going to be unhappy with the wait? I am the one you'd be e-mailing and calling to complain! Bill just talked to Justin the week before last, I believe, just to shoot the poop. Mike, Justin, Bill -- they're all friendly, and as far as I know, nobody's trying to hoard the business.

It is far easier to lay it all out on the proverbial table so that everyone knows what to expect than it is to make false promises and have to clean up the mess down the line. It would be unfair of me to tell you that you will have your tunes next week when I KNOW that it's going to take at least a month! We actually have a few customers left from the month of March, I believe, who have been waiting patiently. That, of course, is not the norm, but there are only so many hours in the day. We will never purposely misrepresent our company or what we can do for our customers. That's not the way we play the game.

If you like the programmers that Mike or Justin program and they don't have as long a wait, it would make sense for you to buy from them. If you like what the Gryphon has to offer and are willing to wait for some incredible custom tunes (that's from our testimonials -- not from me!), then you should purchase the Gryphon. I will still love you either way.

 

You are right, Jack. Generally, we ship our Gryphons out within 1-3 days. Occasionally, a customer gets lucky and we get it shipped out the same day.
