Yikes! I wasn't under the impression that anyone was waiting that long for a programmer.

Well my memory is that bad if i had to wait that long. And I would really like to know how fast I'm actually running and from what I have read the XCal don't do my gears without a custom tune.

The main reason I'm looking more toward the PHP. Now If I would have just been ready a couple weeks ago when they was giving the nie discount on them.

Well I have looked at the 2 programmers and it looks like I will order one tomorrow from VMP. I was hoping the Gryphoon would go on sale so I could handle the extra price but I an't wait til labor day on it.

im on the fence with programmers too! its either VMP or PHP.. on one hand im concerned with the turn around time on the PHP.. on the other hand, i hear that VMP T/A is very quick.. so im not sure which way to go. i want the gryphon but dont want to wait forever for my custom tunes

Hi there,

I wish we could tell you that you'll have your custom tunes right away, but the reality is that we're getting more orders in every day, and there's simply not enough hours in the day to speed up our turnaround. Bill is working as fast as he can, and our customers -- yes, even the ones who've had to wait! -- have been pleased. We have a lot of respect for Justin as a tuner. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you decide to go with VMP.

I recently purchased a Gryphon and am very satisfied. The HP and RWT you get on the level 2 towing is totally amazing. I have a 4.6 motor and my buddy who has the 5.4 motor is wondering how my truck feels more powerful than his. Remember, good things come to those who wait. And Corey and Bill won't steer you wrong. Plus the Gryphon looks very nice on your dash and it so much fun to see whats going on with your truck. Sometimes you just drive around in circles just to see what your truck is doing.

Bill at powerhungryperformance.com

I ordered two tunes from Bill and all I can say is WOW. His service is amazing. He truly cares about his customers. He will do whatever it takes to make you happy. I had a drone problem with my truck so I called Bill. He went back and fourth sending me updated tunes until I was completely satisfied. I have a friend that also ordered tunes from Bill to fix a drone. Bill made him two tunes for the price of one because of the fact that his horrible drone wasn't completely resolved and my friend didn't want to wait for an updated tune.

IF YOU WANT THE BEST TUNES AND BEST SERVICE GET THEM FROM BILL

Blackout, I'm going to add a third indorsement to what Chris and romanstine said. You MAY have to wait a bit for the custom tunes, but they, and the customer service you get from Bill and Corey make it all worth it.

And, as just a small point to consider: Notice how Corey was so up-front about the possible "wait" and how she DID NOT try to steer you away from Justin and VMP? This approach is what I mean when I keep using words like "honesty" and "integrity" to describe PHP.

Also, I don't think you'll wait long at all for the Gryphon itself (with it's stock tunes). If I'm wrong, of course, Corey will correct me. So, you'll get to play with your "toy" and admire the additional readouts as you drive around. Not to mention, of course that even the canned tunes are better than Ford's stock tune.

Hope this helps put things in perspective!

- Jack

As "honest" as it may sound, it still sounds like my girlfriend knowingly using cognitive biases against me.

Such nice things to say but what underlying message are you sending when you lay it out like that; I don’t like the tone, it’s a blindside shot

Haha. Maybe...

Did I ever get back to your post on MPH vs. RPM shift schedules?

No it isn't: I still like my girlfriend. Just because she tries something doesn't mean i don't like her. Just as PHP said something, doesn't mean I don't like them. I was just pointing it out that some people are easily attracted to types psychological biasing.

No, I don't think you did, i. ride.

As I recall, I put up something fairly long (my usual style) about shifting on "sound" (i.e. RPM) rather than speed back in the good old days when we were still allowed to control things in the driver's seat of our vehicles. And, though I probably didn't add this, those manual transmission vehicles always had better gas mileage rankings than their automatic counterparts too.

So, if you would like to enlighten me? Does it possibly have something to do with part throttle (normal) acceleration rather than WOT acceleration?

Manuals loose less power through the trannys than autos do, about 10% I think
