Thanks for the positive feedback guys.

We currently sell custom tune files sent via email for those that already have an SCT handheld tuenr, and custom programmed SCT handheld tuners with 3 tunes for those that need a tuner.

I would highly recommend buying a new tuner, as it can often save you a lot of headaches. Too many guys end up with locked tuners, or try to buy them from a discount store just to save a few bucks. You may get no support, no warranty, and if the tuner is locked to another vehicle it costs $150 to have SCT unlock it. When you buy a new SCT X-cal2 or X3 from VMP the three custom tunes, 6 months of support, and 2 year hardware warranty, are all includes for the $400 price.

We do not currently carry F150 intakes, you guys have been keeping me so busy with tuner and tune file orders that I have not had time to add them to my site and start selling them. I do plan to offer a basic low-cost VMP branded intake, and then sell the higher end intakes like the AF1. However, in the mean time you are welcome to buy your KN, Roush, AF1, etc (just to name a few, there are several more) intake elsewhere and have us tune for it, that is not a problem.

Perfect

My son will be getting in touch with you in the next month or so I am pretty sure. Since he just purchased the truck and then a tonnuea cover for it as well he needs to build his money back up.

One question i have though is We live in California and can only get 91 Octane as our top octane fuel and it is oxygenated can you tune for this?

Also are the new 2008 F-150 sensitive to air flow increase like the 05-08 Mustangs? I do recall hearing this when the 04 models first came out. So you cannot just slap a CAI on without it triggering the CEL for lean codes is that still correct?

I never tripped a CEL running a CAI on my 04 F150, but I wasnt a member here either, and didnt know about the Lean condition it can cause. Looking back, I know I was running lean cause the engine would make some "rattling" types of sounds under acceleration at higher RPM's.

My vote is to buy what you want as far as mods are concerned, but dont install the CAI until the tunes arrive. Since installing my VMP with my K&N CAI my truck has NO acceleration mystery sounds, and run's like a champ!

I can answer the 91 Octane question, Yes... VMP can tune to which ever grade of fuel you have in your area.

I went with 87 Tow & 87 Performance + 93 Performance for when Im in the mood to pick on my buddies with the 5.4's! Ohhh, and my 4.10's with an LS installed makes for a quick runnin 4.6, campared to those 5.4's with minnor mods, and no custom tunes! I have a guy with a Hypertech, who's going to meet me at the track maybe this coming week, and see what happens... last time I was beating him by a few 10ths, so he got a Hypertech, havent told him I have swapped out to 4.10's since then!

Hope this helps
Tom
