Question How much would you pay to 'Upgrade' your Edge?

I love my Edge, but I wish it could do MORE! I'd like to have what I have now, WITH the ability to add a custom tune... Heck... more TUNES!
In my little 'Happy' world, my Edge would offer me this:

Example:
1.) Transmission Tune
2.) Towing 87 oct
3.) Towing 93 oct
4.) Performance 87 oct
5.) Performance 91 oct
6.) Performance 93 oct
7.) Custom Tune
8.) My Default Tune
9.) Stock

Most of us paid ~ $300.00-$350.00 for the Edge.

MY QUESTION.... HOW MUCH MORE WOULD YOU PAY TO GET THOSE FEATURES?

My idea of an upgrade path for the Edge is LiveWire.

That puppy can hold 7 tunes (3 canned, 3 custom + stock)

And - you can store as many additional tunes as you wish on your pc's hard drive.

IMHO, carrying 3 tunes at any given time with you should be plenty - what, you gonna reflash every day? Overkill.

And make no mistake - overly frequent reflashes carry a very real risk of 'peckeritis'.

Without the availability of thetoolset to produce custom tunes & a trained dealer network, true custom is not likley to happen, but who knows?

Someone should ask Edge that question too

I wouldn't pay a cent to upgrade it. The EDGE Evolution does what I want for what I need it for and provides the best bang for the buck doing it.

I couldnt have said it better. If you want more step up to the Livewire. The Edge is great for what I need it for.

Maybe I'm just reading this wrong but...I'm stumped. You already have numbers 1, 2, 3, 5, 9 and 6. You do know about bumping up Octane levels don't you? If not, you need to read over your manual and check it out.

Nah - you read it right.

He was already told that, but chose to ignore it

Yeah,

I get it...

But I really don't like waiting the additional time to go into "custom" ... heck, it's like an additional 2 minutes.... nor do I wanna be sitting in a gas station and have to recall what kind of timing I can add with a givin octane....
It seems so easy just to update the software... how hard can it be?

Guess you can't make everybody happy.

I personally don't have a problem calculating +1 for every 2 points in octane. And as far as switching between tunes...theres an option called "Load Previous Settings" It will load all your previous settings so you don't lose your custom settings. Not really sure how it takes you over two minutes to change things up. I can switch between running 87 octane tow tune to running 93 octane performance tune in about 15 seconds before I tell it to install the tune.

Yeah... I know about "Load Previous Settings". Now maybe I am being a little **** here, but I'd like it all from one menu, and I'd like to be able to name the setting.

And comon, you know it goes through an additional process when you go into "custom", almost like it has to compile the customized setting before it even start loading the 4 blocks. (maybe I got no patience? I do think it takes forever to load a tune... 2 minutes is like 15 seconds EIGHT times!)

ANYWAY,...

Like I said, I love my Edge. My wife doesn't even give me crap, 'cause she notices the difference (I take her for a ride every now and then.)
But, I do product development work, and looking at it from that angle, it just seems they could be the 'everything'. IMO.

IMO I think this is a perfect case of a uninformed user who doesn't know enough about the product he is using. He will eventually write a thread as to how he managed to disable his truck 30 miles out in the woods because he was messing with his tunes unnecessarily and then blame the edge for his mistakes.

I gotcha now. Your talking about the actual prepping of the tune, not the actual process of selecting your custom settings. I agree with you there. It does take a few more seconds than normal. I thought you were complaining about how long it takes you select the custom settings you wanted.

Looks at it like this, you could always have gone with the "other" tuner and be stuck with just three tunes instead of the numerous ones Edge allows for: ie, any octane from 87 up for Towing, and any octane 91 and up for towing.

If that were indeed true, then you would not have said this:

Agree 100% with changing settings..............

Edge is the best bang for the buck mod so far. I got my oil changed yesterday at a Ford dealership. The guy who drove it around the building after changing the oil asked me what chip I was using because all the F-150's he drove never felt like my truck . I told him the EDGE EVO
