I just upgraded my Edge Lightning USB Interface to v2.00.0072 and noticed that under the Utilities tab their is a "Create Stock Writer" option. When clicking on this option, it comes up with another window with a number written and then asks for a serial code or number below.

Does anyone know what this Stock Writer option is for and how to access it?
I could not find anything in the manual about it and don't remember if it was available on the previous version.

 

All I can say is... I am about to go out and get my Edge... I want to see what you are talking about...

Why do you need a stock writer? That'd be for situations where your PCM was in some sort of screwed up state.

 

Just curious as to what this parameter does and why Edge puts that option in the Lightning software program.

Anybody from Edge Products care to comment?

 

Right... so IF my PCM WERE to get all conf#cked... It would be great if my Edge were so powereful I could flash it back to stock.

Still it'd be great if it just looked like this:

1.) Transmission Tune
2.) Towing 87 oct
3.) Towing 93 oct
4.) Performance 87 oct
5.) Performance 91 oct
6.) Performance 93 oct
7.) Custom Tune
8.) My Default Tune
9.) Stock

 

You can already have all those with the edge, with exception to #8 and #9 being redundant.
