Ahh... and now we get to where I was trying to lead "us".

Like I said, I did send them an email. AND, I didn't like the brief, closed answer I got. SO.....

I came here, to 'help' them 'understand' the market... blah blah blah..

And pretty much all I got was a bunch of guys tryin to tell me how dumb I am, and how I have no clue how the Edge works.

BTW... I am very glad you were able to articulate your(lol... MY) point so well. Thanks for 'getting' what I was trying to accomplish....

Also I wasn't refering to Troyer tunes at all. I was refering to the XCalII device. Leave it to some people to add words inbetween the lines they are trying to read from.

Peace out...I'm done on this particular issue in this thread. Dont' want this to turn into a Troyer vs Edge Thread..which I had no intention of getting into.
You'll have to admit what you said wasn't articulated very well:

Those familiar with the Xcal2 can attest to the fact that certain adjustments can be made to the reference tunes to assert similar mods to some settings, like the Edge. They're called Custom settings --- timing, fuel, shifts, etc...

So your comparison is really not valid. That's due to being uniformed - in this instance, about the feature set in the Xcal2.

BTW - I never mentioned Troyer - you did. So your comments w.r.t. that are also out of line.

But, I'm heartened to know my comments on perfection, reliability and safety are recognized as being synonymous with his work !

Just sayin'

Cheers
Bubba

Most of us aren't being defensive. We are just trying to do understand what you were trying to say in your first post. Also trying to help a fellow Edger understand his product. Honestly, it came across in your first post that you didn't have the slightest clue how to use your Edge. But now I think we are all on the same page.
OK... Perhaps I should concede that my original post was vague. My intent was to ask a simple question, and get a simple answer. I wasn't looking for debate. Now that my intent behind the post is made clear, AND we've ironed out all the details of 'what' it is, and 'how it'll work', I am not sure this will be reference material I can submit to Edge, as was my intention....

Perhaps, I should start over.....

No need.

You did good.

You should be able to 'cull' your requirements form all the responses here - even mine .

It would indeed be great if the Edge guys, who surely continue to troll here, would just post their stance.

Over @ SCT, for example, folks are forever giving their *cough* feedback & they at least DO listen & even respond with rationale. Where's the Edge equivalent to this ? - it could well be here if they so chose....

Cheers
Bubba

Yeah... I have read some threads/post by an ASEMechanic... I thought he was on the inside track regarding EDGE... but I may be thinking of something else. But yeah... where is that guy.../ GAL...??

So many of your current customers would LOVE to be able to upgrade our Edge to allow for More Tunes... and yes... IF ONE COULD BE CUSTOM, I KNOW I"D PAY AN ADDITIONAL 150 BUCKS or so to "upgrade my current device.

Example:
1.) Transmission Tune
2.) Towing 87 oct
3.) Towing 93 oct
4.) Performance 87 oct
5.) Performance 91 oct
6.) Performance 93 oct
7.) Custom Tune
8.) My Default Tune

That would make this device THE PREMIUM TUNER!!!!!!!

EDGE did add several features to the Evo based specifically on requests from users here at F150online. Two that come to mind are the Avg. MPG readout and idle speed adjustment. They do listen and respond. I will admit that they haven't been seen posting on here in quite a while, though.

No wonder you got that response. You got dang near the same response here. You should have articulated your thoughts down a little better before emailing them. Because all they saw was a user who
1. Didn't read the instruction manual enough to know how to change octane levels in tunes
2. A user who wanted the Edge to do some custom tuning.

Talking

mmm.. astute observation.

You'll note the email is from tuesday...

Maybe I should have prefaced the post with "I quickly become an expert in using anything computer within hours."

I am SO sure that would've made such a difference.. but whatever.

As you can tell.... I no longer have any motivation to endure further explanation... it's not really my strong suite anyway.

Agreed. As I misinterpreted your (undeaddemon) first post, I bet the EDGE "operations specialist" did as well. You and I had a short debate earlier in this thread because the way that your first post was worded. Now that everyone is on the same page and can pretty much agree with your original idea (now that it has been clarified), I bet if brought to the attention of EDGE correctly, it may serve a purpose as to any changes that may occur in the future of the product.
