Yeah Edge wasn't able to duplicate the factory stock tune so it made it where my truck wouldn't start.....of course Edge knew this they just were to busy to send out an e-mail and let anybody know. I gotta get the lightining software downloaded so I can get the tunes back on it depending how that goes on whether I will sell it or not.

Anybody get the rebate from Edge Rob talked about if we tested the beta unit and filled out the surveys

I have not heard or seen anything about the rebate.

But I picked up about a 10% gain in mpg so I am not complaining. Completely satisfied with the Edge unit.

Am I lost here? I bought the Edge from a shop last month for my '00 5.4. What is the beta test we are talking about? If the final version is out why is the beta still going on and why still issues? No problem with mine at all.

I haven't had contact with Rob lately. I need to email him today. It is the first issue I have had with my Edge in a while. While running Level 2 with no timing adjustments I have experienced some detonation. I have been running level 2 for a while now and this is the first time this has happened. It happened right after I filled up with gas so I am wondering if I just got some bad gas. I switched back to Level 1 and haven't had any problems.

I still haven't heard anything about the rebate.

jre,
if you hear ping from to much timeing why have you not custom tuned with a reduction in ignition timing?
Look at page 18 of the user manuel.
Every truck weight, gear ratio and pulling load is not the same.
The EDGE, as you get it, is a canned tune until you custom alter it to meet you needs. Understand once you make changes then the results are your responsibility.
That's what the term 'Tuner' means.
I have had the same conditions as well as a trans that shifts to harsh because the trans is already modified. This made it nessesary to back the canned shift tune down and not use that part of their program.
This is why we have the ability to change conditions with the tuner.

Yeah with the production version out for sale I am pretty sure us beta testers are forgotten.............actually he forgot about me about 2 min after he sent out the tester to begin with.

I find it very hard to test a product that has never worked since I owned it, I sure hope some of you who got it to work gave Rob real good feedback so they could "adjust" it. Went and looked at the website and did some pricing and between what I paid for the tester and the $139 bill that I seem to have gotten stuck with to fix my truck I could have just bought a final version...........which from what I understand still doesn't totally work correctly.

Bottom line I signed up to be a tester, never got to test the product cause it hasn't ever worked so I guess my official stance after being a beta tester which is what I signed up to be would be............."be very careful on this one fellas"

Rob never did get back to me when the units first got mailed out, so after reading about all the problems I am kind of glad he didn't.

I have been running the Superchip 1715 for almost a year now and I am just waiting to get the bucks together to go with Troyer.

Quackaddict, If they won’t give you your money back try disputing it with your credit card company.

After reading Faduc and Quackaddict posts, I for one feel that based on the fact that Rob failed to reply or return requests from both.Which has resulted in a loss of money to a forum member.I am calling for a banishment from this forum to be applied to Rob, based on the lack of ability to trust him and what he is selling!I call all members to a vote!!!

Here is the text from the original Edge offer to Beta test their product. I will send an email off to Rob to inquiry about the Rebate and report back here. I would say once the unit was available at the retail level our Beta test was complete.

FYI

"Thanks for your interest! We are offering the Evolutions at a
discounted price of $175 (Retail will be $489) with a $50 rebate once we
receive feedback on how the product is working. We are still early in
development, and we will be looking for a group of Alpha Testers for the
first run, followed by a group of Beta testers. Beta testing would
involve running the product, and describing your likes, dislikes,
suggested improvements, and reporting anything unusual that may occur
while running the unit on your vehicle. If this is something that
interests you, let me know, and I will put you on the list and contact
you when we are ready to send the units out."

Banishment I believe is to much, but here are the facts.

When the units were first sent out and a problem was discovered that could cause you to loose your factory tune did I recieve an e-mail or phone call saying here is the deal? NO

When the units were returned to Edge to have the factory tune replaced and sent back it was discovered that an important file which has to go to the dealer to be fixed was an e-mail sent out saying don't install NO

Help I have been given by Edge with this UnitNone (all has come off this board

Have I ever recieved an e-mail or phone call or survey from Rob saying how is the product working? NO

Have I lost over $300 of my money for a product that has never worked right?YES

Has Edge done anything to try and make the situation right?NO

Number of times I have talked to Rob on the phone. 1

Number of e-mails I have recieved from Rob since I first got the product1 (which was to send the unit back)

Number of e-mails I have sent to Rob with my experience or needing assistance.6

So if this sounds like a product test that would give you confidence that is your opinion. Some of you got a good deal on your units I know I didn't between all the headaches, being left in the dark and loss of money I am just not real happy with Edge, but that is just me.

WOW, I would not have guessed some of those responses would be on here. The only problems I've had where when I first got the unit, but that was fixed when I sent it back and they reflashed it. Since then, my unit has worked great, both with the canned and custom tunes. I'm currently running a Level 2 with custom tunes and love it.

I was wondering about the survey and refund, so I just emailed Rob. Hopefully he'll get back to me, he's been good about it so far. Sorry to hear about the many problems many are experiencing. I'll keep you updated if I do hear back from Rob.

Dave

Dave,
Honestly please do let us know if you hear from him I have been trying pretty hard and haven't heard. I know it sounds like I am being rough on him but for some reason I just can't get ahold of him and I need to pretty bad.

Quackaddict,
I don't think you are being rough on him at all. You purchased a product that you want to work right. If I were in your shoes I would probably be extremely pissed right now and probably doing more than just trying to call Rob.

I sent Rob an email Friday. If I here back from him I will post up here.
