Well not sure if this will help anyone before it's too late but here is what I got from Rob today:
"When we got your evolution back here, there was no vid.bin code on it. So we created one from the vehicle calibration code that you gave us at the beginning of the test. Unfortunately we overlooked the fact that the PATS system is included and encoded in the vid.bin file. We have no way of duplicating that....The only way to get the truck back to stock is to have a dealer reflash the PCM to stock. We will pay for the tow bill and the cost of the re-flash at the dealer, just keep a receipt from both and get them into me asap."
At least they are going to take care of the cost, sucks that I have to go through the hassle though.

I am glad that my Edge is finally working right. I kept having problems with the power cutting on and off. It was just a loose fuse. I ended up bending the metal connections on the fuse opposite directions and it tightened the connection up where I have no problems now.
Just for anyone who is curious I have yet to see a significant increase in fuel mileage. I have hand calculated my mileage since I bought the truck and have not noticed a difference since I have had the Edge.

I just done this today.
A crank but no start shows up like this.
1. The theift lamp flashes fast.
2. Leave the ignition on for several minutes allows the Pats system to decide the link to the PCM is faulty (the vib block) by displaying a code 16 theift lamp flash.
3. A scan of the PCM at the port should show P1639. This code also tells you the vid block is missing.
So you have the proof from both outside and inside the PCM.
I had my PCM dealer reflashed and you need two pats coded keys to go along with it for completion of the job. The reflash is done thru the dash port same as the tuner works at.
At this moment I have not tried to reprogram upward again until I get the tuner program restored.
Question is will this vid block registration fail again?

Has anyone tested the 0-60 times using level 2 and 3 tunes? I did and I must say I did not get the results I had hoped for. My 0-60 time with the stock tune was 10.64 at 79 degrees ambient temperature. 0-60 time with level 2 was 12.64 at 79 degrees ambient temperature. and 0-60 time with level 3 was 12.54 at 78 degrees ambient temperature. All runs were made using 93 octane gas. Any thoughts.

Very true and I am appreciative that they want to make it right, but at the same time it was an oversight, not an issue with something breaking because I was driving the truck like crazy or something. It's still at the dealer but I will let you guys know the final outcome, and I have not given up on Edge. It's still a great product and I can't wait to play with the new unit some more when it comes in.

Who has a late report on Beta testing?
What problems have you saw and what was found.
I may be one of 2 that have a specific problem with the tuner not copying the VID block for return, when going back to stock programing.
Has anyone had that problem?
It usually means everytime this happens the PCM has to be refreshed by a dealer because the VID block cannot be found any other way and results in a no start condition.
If this is not fixed in the tuner program, I cannot use this tuner at all.
At this time I am in limbo because I cannot get to the tech team handling this project.
I have not gotten to the point of being able to custom the program for shifting , timing and fuel. As I need these for the tuner to be usefull. The tow timing has to much advance and my modified trans shifts to harsh.

Thanks R1.
I have program knowledge but no way to do anything, so I know pretty much what is going on.
When the VID block is fully corrupted, the PATS can't talk to the PCM and inhibits the start function.
When this happens you can see the problem from two places.
Leave the ignition on for a couple minutes and the PATS will flash code 16.
Scan check of the PCM will give a P1639.
Both these codes point to the same fault.
I made a foolish mistake and hooked up the tuner and it launched into the re-write function again before I was able to stop it.
This time the VID block is corrupted only but not to the point the start is inhibited. I have the code P1639 again but still can drive the truck with no other problem except the speedometer reads high indicating what part of the VID block is corrupted. The PATS link is still in place.
I am waiting to decide if this is going to be a semi permant problem before going back to my dealer for a second reflash. If it is then I can't use this tuner on my PCM version.
We have the patience to roll with it for final gain unless there is a problem that can't be overcome.
I have to comment that my PCM version really does well in stock form.
So may not get much gain from the tuner power wise except in fuel mileage that I have already saw using CITGO gas on level 2.
I have the seed number already to go when I can get to talk with the tech people.
I have a custom built trans for towing that has all kinds of changes internal including the reprogammed valve body and a Diesel converter so I need the ability to program the level 2 shifting back out of the programs as well as adjust the ignition timing for towing.
Other than what other operation faults there are with tuner powerup and level indication etc, it's the same as many others experiences.
I would think that the software people are working and testing the software fixes for down load as a version update. Here's hoping.

I just got my programmer back today! I removed the Edge from my truck (to return it to Rob) and forgot to return it to stock so it is still on level 2. Rob said he could take care of that when I sent it back. Their customer support is closed right now, so how do I put my programmer back into my truck and load the stock program? I just dont want to write over the stock program again! Thanks.
