DWV Intake Mod for 2004-2008 F150 with 5.4L Engine
There is a revised version of this mod that I posted in post #74 of this thread. You may want to look at doing that one if you have concerns about the downspout connector deforming or getting sucked inside out. Linky below:

Total cost for the Spectre duct (8741), K&N filter (33-2287), and the rubber downspout connector was ~$73.00.
Did mine 2 days ago, but instead of part #23544 used #23564 (they had it in the wrong box). Got home realized mistake. Mine was abs and thinner. Tried it anyways, and works fine. Also should not have to worry about fold over from suction.

All I need for the Spectre version of the mod is the Spectre duct "kit" and the rubber downspout connector?
No other glues, clamps, etc.?
TIA

Oh yeah, no painting, either. Unless you just want to.

Just completed. It really is a joke how easy it is to do with the Spectre tubing.
How far should i push the Spectre tubing into the downspout connector\intake tube? Does it matter?
I have an Edge Evo but it is currently set to the stock tune for the computer to "re-learn" (after power reset of course). How long should I wait before switching to one of the tunes?

I just completed this mod and noticed an immediate improvement in my trucks response from idle. I used to have a noticeable hesitation as right before the shift points to 2nd and 3rd but not now. I almost spun the tires when I took off from a stop the first time after the mod. I always had to go light on the throttle anyway but now there is no delay, she just wants to wind up....lol.
I was wondering since the inside of the Spectre tubing was convoluted wouldn't that make the airflow more turbulent or does it really matter?

While these may be a litle dark, This is the 1960's style hemi ram air intake I built. Iused the oem manifold and incorpoated the inlet tube into it. Th inlet sits just above the radiator shroud so it actually gets 100% cold air in a ram application.
