Yea ive yet to approach my parents with anything major yet. Seeing as they have the checking account it kind of has to go through them they pay in check and i pay them back in cash. Its basically my money. When i bought 33's over 31's my mom went into this speech of why this, why that. And my dad looked at her and said, because its cool. I straight up asked my dad if he would let me lift my truck and he said, i dont care, its your truck. But then again, he doesnt write the checks, momma does. Man i am so screwed.

Oh, and ive already come up with safety excuses. For like my headlights, taillights that i want to get. And off road/fog lights. Still working on one on the lift. The only thing i can think of is, with these roads and traffic, im a hell of a lot safer than i would be before. And the tires, better traction in said traffic. And i can make money in the summer pulling people out of the sand on the beach.

I found it best to start talking about the part you want early. The more expensive, the earlier you have to bring it up. I usually bring it up when gas prices go up and say now honey, this will get me better gas mileage. Funny thing is it probraly would if I could keep my foot out of the pedal. Then when she noticed gas mileage didn't change, I blame it on myself, not the mods. I can take the beating, the mods can't. But I still got the mods!!!

I just buy something for her GT and she stays happy. Most women like jewelry and other things...... mine likes performance parts and other goodies for her 'Stang! Guess I'm a lucky man.

No need to justify here. More like... No I am not ready to do the leather install yet, I need to get the winch mounted up, and new shocks and tires first...

I don't fuss about her makeup, shoes, or Pampered Chef... It's a tradeoff.

Ive never had an issue explaining purchases to my wife. I don't grill her when she wants shoes or purses (which she has about 15 of) or something to decorate with, so I don't get grilled when I want to buy something for my truck.

I wondered if anybody else was going to notice that.

Anywho, to answer the 12 year old question ( ), if I want something, I buy it. I don't go overboard when I buy stuff and neither does she. When I do buy something, it's usually on sale or I've negotiated a price that I just can't pass up.

I know, 12 years old thread.

As to justifying / defending .... it's my own conscience that I have to justify mods to, the wife is always like "If you want it, get it" .... but it's my conscience that holds me backwhen I hold back.

Just the way it is ...........
